Kenenisa Bekele beats Eliud Kipchoge & Isaac Kiprono Songok - 5000m - 2006 - Weltklasse Zürich 

Finally another video of the phenomenon Kenenisa Bekele. As one German commentator once remarked, when Kenny is fit, anyone hoping for gold can only be disappointed.

Songok gave Bekele in his prime a really good run. He chased him at the World Cross Country short race (4 km) earlier that year too, but Bekele knew he would win. This was Songok's fastest race of his career. What a great race.

I give props to the runner in 2nd. He was in the wake, but making it very competitive. KIP was toast!

Issac Kiprono Songok has shown us a true sportsmanship and deserve honest respect by those who do seek to see such things in all sports.

Man do I want to see more of the Golden Leauge races from the 2006 season. Bekele was in a league of his own that season.

if you noticed. Bekele decreased his speed to save energy for the last lap .kipchoge could not do a sprint because the race was too fast.

Yet to see running as graceful as this

it's amazing to think how fast he could have gone in this race. Such inconsistent laps must have taken a lot out of them and it ended up still being a fast time. 68s followed by a 67s then an amazing last lap of 53 (which he only started to kick at 350m). If he had just done the last 3 laps at 60s which i'm sure was quite doable he would have been at 12:40
