Kenji Has Passed Away 

Kenji wasn't just a dog, he was a member of your family! My heartfelt prayers go out to you all!

At 67 years-old, I've NEVER been without a dog. At 67, I've NEVER found it easy to let them go, NEVER not cried at their passing, and NEVER have I not mourned. At 67, I can only be sure of 2 things: 1. ALL dogs go to heaven. 2. All of our pets will be waiting to meet us on the other side when we make our transition. Asking grace to envelope you with all of the love and good memories that is KENJI.

When we had to put down our dog about 4yrs ago, I told my wife no more dogs. After 7 or 8 months had passed, I realized I wasn't missing not having a dog around but the spirit of not having one around. We found an abandoned pup that looked like a border collie with heeler markings on his legs. His name became Spirit. And the hole I had in me began to close up shortly there after. That was 4yrs ago and he has turned out to be a great help to me and my farm. What I'm saying is, in time without looking for another one, one will find you and the healing will begin. Keep the faith!

I'm in tears. It's so hard to lose our fur babies. I lost my Issy at 16 yrs and decided I wasn't going to get anymore as I have had many in my life. About 3 months later Issy sent Dallas to me. She had been dumped, and the rescues have no room here in WA. It will be a year in 11 days. I have met many people that I prefer not to be around but I have met very few dogs that I don't love!

I found myself crying with you. He has been there since I started watching you. What a wonderful dog. Love and prayers to your family

Kenji lived long enough to launch you and your children into their new lives. He supervised every aspect of your building a new life on the land. He stayed on extra long to see it through. Loyal beyond words. Well done good and faithful friend.

If love could have kept him alive on this earth he would have lived forever! What a beautiful life he had. May the beautiful memories bring you peace and comfort. He was loved beyond measure!

I lost my 14 YO cat in October 2022. He was the coolest cat. I still miss him so much. I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a well-loved and blessed pup to have y’all as his family. May God ease your pain and comfort you.

I am 72 years old and as I watch the two of you, I can't stop crying. Just ten days ago I had to put down my little 6 pound Yorkie who was 12 year old. The devastating emotions that pet owners feel when they lose their faithful friends are so raw and gut wrenching. May God flood our memories with all the good times we shared with our little four legged buddies, and that one day, our joy in remembering them will surpass the pain of their loss.

I can feel the ache in your hearts, the tightness in your throats, and the river of tears you will cry. Four years ago tomorrow I lost my heart dog and I still feel the pain as if it were yesterday. May Gods words in Isaiah that ALL flesh will know He is Lord. Your precious Kenji is in his arms and will be waiting for you . God bless you all.

You gave Kenji the best life. You gave him a family to love and protect. You gave him a place to belong that was full of love returned. You gave him your hearts. No dog could have wanted more. Thank you for sharing him with us.

We put our old cow dog of 16 years down on the 9th. He gave me the sign he was done on that Sunday before. He is buried next to my old dog where they can bark at each other into eternity. He worked cows, went to college, worked at a feedlot, babysat kids and was spoiled at all the coffee shops. A hell of a life. Long live dogs.

Having your fur baby leave is the hardest... these thoughts helped us through the heartbreak. . . It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. Thank you for the memories of Kenji. A dog's love is truly the only unconditional love. I am 71 now and lost my Sophie this past December. I had her for 13 years. I never knew I could love a dog so much. My heart goes out to your family. Yes, I too believe you will see him again in Heaven.

We lost our beautiful Alfie in February, as we mourned him we also began the process of adopting a rescue dog from overseas. She’s been with us a week and has helped heal our hearts immensely.

😢 I at 72 years old went through this 1 yr ago. My children talked me into getting another. I have no regrets. My new puppy is loved, and has helped me tremendously. I do encourage you to mourn but also think about a new Companion, not to take Kenji’ place but to love another dog. 😢🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I lost my 14 year old lab in June. Her name was Mirage, but it should have been shadow. She followed me everywhere and was a big part of every day. That's the hardest part...seeing hair, finding a toy, seeing their nose prints. I've been so lonely without her. I know I gave her the best life. You have to know that too. It doesn't make it any easier. Nothing does, but time. My heart goes out to everyone. ❤

Kenji may be gone in physical form, but he has never left. His presence will be felt in your house, on your property and in your hearts. He patiently waits at the rainbow bridge for his faithful Kahu's, the ones hes always known........the ones he will always know because you are all family. When you hear his bark or feel his presence, know that that is him, telling you he is still here, still watching, still protecting.......still loving you. When my two cats passed I had so much paranormal activity in my house, but it was all just to show me that they truly never leave, they are always with us. Always speak to them, because they are always at your side, listening and loving!

This is has been quite a week for us as well. Yesterday morning I received news that my twin brother had passed away in his sleep. Totally shocking and unexpected. He was only 63. Far too young. And also this week my husband's mother, my mother-in-law is dying. And so I wept with you over Kenji's passing. Life is full of such painful partings. Sorrow, loss, grieving - all teach us to love. I firmly believe we will see our beloved pets again in heaven, if we do our due diligence and make things right with God and our names are found in the Lamb's Book of Life. The Father is the perfect host and I am sure the heaven He creates for us will be full not only of delightful, mind-boggling wonders, but also populated with familiar things that will comfort us and orient us to our new heavenly home. God bless you, Souza family, with the comfort and peace only He can give. You are loved, and so was Kenji. I would love to meet him in heaven!

Watching this with my 15 year old cat in my lap made me really sad, listening to Jeremy talk made me cry. Kenji lived a long and fulfilling life and enriched both you and your childrens lives and his last few years were probably his best!

I’m 70 and you made me cry. My main dog growing up was a Shepard Collie mix called Bandit. Had him from age 8-13. Someone poisoned him one night. My Mother saw me dragging him across the lawn to a place where I buried him. My Mom said she knew her little boy became a man that day.

Crying right along with your family. We lost our dog Porkchop last year and I still can't believe she is gone. She was my constant companion since I work at home. I am asking God to allow Porkchop to meet Kenji at heavens gate.

I am facing this with my fifteen year old dog Rex. Hard thing to face but believe me, there is a rainbow heaven. I know this as my own NDE made me aware of how God loves us all. I know because my dog Tramp passed away around fourteen years ago saved me and yes, He had passed, a month before yet as I saw a light, he licked my face and oh how I wish we had just joined each other now. I still remember his special ways and love for me. God spelled backwards is DOG. That I feel is not a coincidence.

My heart breaks for you and your family . Kenji will always be with you in your hearts, and they fill your home with so much joy so the emptiness you are feeling is overwhelming. My two senior dogs had passed this year months apart ,and this is the first time in my whole life I have been without a fur baby. You will be in my thoughts and maybe some day another dog will be lucky enough to be loved like Kenji. I am hoping to do the same. Prayers of comfort are with.

We all have that one dog that is special. I lost mine 8 years ago and although I have another dog, there will never be another Pepper. My son said it best. "It's like losing a family member, but the grieving process is shorter." I had to wait to finish watching the video at lunch so I could cry without everyone looking at me wondering what's wrong.

We recently lost a kitten at 4.5 months. Our grief matches yours even though he was not with us nearly as long as you loved Kenji. It hurts, deeply, because you loved him deeply. Grief is the price of love. Hugs to each of you. ❤
