Hey there! We both have videos premiering tonight. Mine is at 8pm CST. Hope you are able to join. I think I'm going to go back to not talking during my videos.
i’ll do my best to be there! Usually when I record, I do a little bit of initial and ending commentary, but don’t like to talk over the machine as much.
Very good action for the large capacity machines. I always liked single action agitators better than the DAA but the belt drive DAA is a classic in it's own right .
I have a question to ask you, and you may or may not know the answer: On some older Kenmore belt drives, like this one, what people call the "woo-woo" sound seems to go silent when the spin cycle engages, but goes higher and higher as the tub's spinning speed increases. However, on others, the woo-woo sound seems to stay on pitch, even as the spin cycle increases. I've been noticing this between some of these washers for years, but I don't quite know what's going on. Do you know? I'm just curious because if I were to have a machine like that someday, I want to make sure that I don't end up with one that's broken.
I do not really know why some are different than others, but the sound of from the belt and transmission. At the start of the spin when the clutch engages for spin, the transmission and motor and belt slow down a lot to bring up the basket to speed. I do not believe it has anything to do with the health of the machine, but just rather some sound a little different than others. Either way I wouldn’t be concerned.
Wouldn't exactly call those reliable but certainly cool, the whirlpool products of the same era definitely have them beat as far as reliability goes but less interesting. I would say definitely better than some of the stuff today but compared to what's out there also very difficult to repair at least when compared to a maytag or direct drive whirlpool from the same era
Put soap before clothes. Start water, put soap, then clothes. Putting soap on clothes is going to stick to your clothes when washing and not spread to others as well in wash
@@lalotime I have always done laundry this way (sometimes I put detergent in first but rarely) and have not had any issues with soap staining or not cleaning correctly. With a machine like this that uses an adequate amount of water for the load, there is no problem with adding the detergent in after the laundry.
