You are a clever man to keep parts from the Same Vacuum brand you made me do that too

I just received the same vacuum, if yours is the Whispertone 200 not the 300. Same issue with the floor head. Clogged up and wouldn't turn. Semi easy fix though. The remedy is taking the head apart. Pull the beater bar. You'll find the ends clogged up. Clean those off good and then they need to be greased. I used a high speed bearing grease. Make sure they spin free. That takes care of the part. Move to the motor. You'll probably find it's clogged all around it with dirt, fuzz, hair etc. Clean all that crap out of the motor area, as well as the rest of the head. The motor probably will still be tight turning. It needs to be oiled with a quality bearing oil. Clean again once oiled as the dirt will spin out. Re-oil as needed to get all the dirt out until it's clean and spins free. Put it back together, it should run like new. Mine does anyway.

I don't know what you did to yours, but this one actually has a lot suction and I take care of it. You should have kept it and serviced it, they work very good.

don't know about yours but my whispertone 8900 is probably the best vacuum i've had, and the only downside is looking for parts.

I got one from the trash with a seized motor, I just soaked it in motor oil, put it back threw the whole thing back together powered it on and it works!

There was either a clog or leak in the hose, or the motor was shot, it was probably neglect from the previous owners of the vacuum, I guess I probably would have gotten rid of it too if I couldn't fix it.

The upper wand had to be replaced because I took it apart and the button that snaps them together broke and fell off. Sears sells new upper wands for $35, I bought it because used ones aren't much cheaper on ebay. What sucks is that I tried to use the wand from the other powermate, but the electrical connection is not the same (the connection is, but the shape of the housing around it is different.) While I was at it I bought a new electrostatic filter and a new powermate belt.

Canisters are nice but my upright had a pretty deep clean

I used to had this one and it was the worst vacuum ever on carpeting. It struggled to pic up and the power brush wasn't powerful enough. I got bored of it and sold it.

Nice Kenmore Canister vacuum cleaner! I owned the same one but mine is color Green. But I don't have a floor powermate for it.

I didn't do anything to it and I put in a new bag. Itmwasin rough condition when I got it a t a yard sale

Hi. I watched your video to the end and you very briefly talked about the part that helps keep the wand in a standing position- the handle release attachment. Mine came off the pedestal "thing" along with the axel. How do I re-attach them? Because of the plastic I'm afraid to push too hard and have it break.

what kind of bag does this vacuum take? do you have a model number for the bag? Thanks in advance
