This made me cry, I’ve been in a bed place recently and this is exactly what I’ve needed to hear. As someone with ADHD who is trying to make music, it’s even harder cause my brain is telling me if I don’t get an INSTANT reward then it’s not worth my time. What Kenny said is exactly what I needed to hear; it takes time and that’s good. It’s a journey not a race, and that makes me feel a lot better about my progress so far. I'll tell you what man I almost had fairly successful underground label called Sweam. Major L, major. Shit fell apart hard and I went into hiding for the past 2 years. Meanwhile practicing everyday building up my arsenal of sounds and skills. Now me and a couple of my closest friends are starting work on a new project. We got access to a legit studio, and hella opportunities are stating to come our way. We ain't out of the woods yet but I'm only 22 and my label almost got an the undergrounds radar when I was just 18. So no matter what even if your "friends" abandon you. You will always show them up in your skill and connection building. We got this y'all! 💪🔥

This is the truth though, 90% of people who last 10+ years in any kind of media/creative industry always have a steady come up

my biggest example for this is mike posner. he blew up and his life went to shit. as soon as he slowed it down and did his own thing things got a hell of a lot better. it’s not all about the peak
