This era of country was just...produced better. Yeah, it's still slick production, but it still sounds human, like you're listening to a band. These days, the vast majority of the recordings sound so artificial I can't even stand it. "Oh! But bro! Ya gotta listen to Country McCountryson! He still does it like the old days!" Ok...then why does every recording of his sound like overproduced hot garbage? There's a depth in the older recordings that used to be there that is just missing from recordings post-2005, give or take.

I remember when I heard this song for the first time. This song immediately became my favourite. You can´t imagine how complicated was getting any american country music records back in 1997 in Slovakia. The internet wasn't very common thing in those days. I used to listen to "Billboard top country songs" broadcasted from Prague. Even though the quality of the transmisson was very poor, I had to record this song on the tape. (Some of you will prehaps remember old magnetic tapes :))). I'm sorry Kenny ... had to do that - I hadn't another option.

Back when Kenny didn't suck. One of his last good songs. Now he is what I call "corporate country." He just sings songs with no heart or emotion. Just to get another check. It's like he is now dead inside. Loved this one though

I know I'm technically not a "90s kid" because I was born in '98, but this is the kind of music I listened too growing up, but the new garbage they call country practically drove me away from it. I mainly listen to nothing but 70's and 80's rock, but it feels good to come back and listen to the music that helped make most of my childhood memories.
