I've avoided this song for 10 years. It's too painful to listen to but today i can't stop playing it. My sister died 10 years ago she was 18 she hung herself. After 10 year, I've gotten married, had my 2 beautiful kids and Saturday we are gonna take a family picture with all my cousins and their kids and my heart hurts right now. I wonder who she would have become. I miss my sister.

I find joy in knowing that my daughter hasn’t had to face the perils of this world. Likewise, I feel great sorrow that she didn’t get to experience life beyond the 27 days she was granted on this earth. I was blessed to have been a father once. Now, I’m cursed to have been a father. I’m cursed with memories of her last night here, her pale blue skin tone etched in my memory, her last cries, the tears of blood which streamed down her cheeks, the way she felt in my arms the day we put her to rest, the haunting dreams, the grief comes and goes, the hell I’ve inflicted upon myself while I was self destructing. Yesterday, Thursday January 30th 2014, my friend Cade, a sophomore while I am a senior, took his own life in the early morning. He shocked the whole school, his LDS church, and the whole town. I have never heard my school so quiet since that Friday afterwards, (today). The teachers all had to read a statement about it, and it reveled information about it that a lot of us did not know, nor want to know. For the first time in my entire school career, I heard not a single sound in the school hallway today. The silence was deafening, and the pain is crushing.

Who You'd Be today is the absolute song I dedicate to my mom. I lost her 46 years ago this year. She died the day after her 22nd birthday and I was only 3 years and 5 days old. She died from the disease Cryptoccocal Meningitis, in which hers was only the 2nd documented case in the world in 1969. To this day it is still a very very very rare form of meningitis. I Miss you mom and often wonder who either of us would be today had you lived. When my son was born 9 weeks early and they told me he was born with meningitis, I was afraid and cried here we go again!!! When my son was only 12 days old they had to rush him over to Children's hospital for emergency surgery but to make funeral plans as he would most likely not make it. My son just celebrated his 23rd birthday, stronger and happier than ever. From being told I'd never have kids to he's gonna die, to happy 23rd birthday my son!!! I lost my cousin who was only 28 years young when she passed.. really bad car accident.. had a new born baby not even a year old I believe.. she used to babysit me when I was a kid I had so many memories with her… thank you Kenny for this song.. going on 23 years later after her passing 9/4/2001 RIP GRACE LOVE AND MISS YOU HOPE YOUR KEEPING AN EYE ON ME UP THERE because I need it… Late November of last year I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma a rare blood cancer in my bone marrow.. and then earlier this year I was diagnosed with a very rare Terminal Disease called Amyloidosis and because of the amyloidosis I also have heart failure all this at the age of 36… been a rough past year but with immunotherapy and going once a week for the last 18 weeks I am very close to remission… and the amyloidosis is currently on hold and not attacking the heart idc what anyone says god is great and truly does work miracles.. i have to go for a stem cell harvest in august and probably a couple months after that I have to go back up to Dana Farber in Boston for a Stem Cell Transplant and if I don’t get the transplant I probably don’t live past another 5 years.. and after that I have to take a drug called revlimid every day and go in for a chemo shot 1-2 times a month called faspro for the remainder of my life.. I really hope you are looking down grace could really use some help because this is very tiring and very hard but I smile everyday and enjoy life living one day at a time because you never know when your time is to go back home…

The song will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first song we played at my son's funeral in 2021. He would have been turning 3 years old on June, 24th, 2024. He was stillborn, and I only got to hold him for a few hours in my arms before I had to say my goodbyes.😢😢😢 He was so precious and perfect in every way. I never thought that I would ever have to experience anything like that in my life, but I have to believe everything happens for a reason, and he was just too perfect for this world, and our Heavenly Father needed him to go back home to heaven. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him and wonder what his first word(s) would have been.. how old would he have been when he would have taken his first steps.. what would be his favorite foods or his favorite things to do.. it is always on my mind. I'm gratefu,l and blessed that I have a 7 year old son, and he has given me the strength to keep going so many times, and he doesn't even realize it yet how much he has truly helped his mama. I'm so thankful I have him because my son is my everything, my rock, my sonshine, my hero. I just wish, and will always wish that I could have watched them grow up together. My son really wants another slibing, and I understand that but it is just hard for me because I think a part of me would feel guilty if I had another child because I lost my son Aaron Ezekiel. My son knows that his baby brother is up in heaven watching over us everyday, along with my brother, Douglas Aaron who passed away in May of 2015 by sadly taking his own life at the age of 26. A part of me feels like my son has met my brother, and his brother because of the way he talks about them. He will bring them up out of nowhere, and let me know how much he loves them and how much they love us, and that they are happy up in heaven. My brother passed away before my 7 year old was born but he talks about his uncle like he has met him. It's crazy but at the same time it brings me comfort because all I ever wanted was for my son to know his uncle, my only brother, and I feel like in some way he does just like the way I believe he knows his baby brother. I know he would have been such an amazing big brother! He is so caring, and has the sweetest heart and soul ❤️ When my son passed away, my other son had just turned four a few months prior, so he really didn't understand, but I feel like he understands to an extent now, and when he gets older it will be something that I talk to him about more. It's just hard. I wish he could have met him but I think it was best that he didn't see his baby brother lifeless at 4 years old. I just feel like that would have traumatized him because I know it definitely traumatized me not just because I lost my child, but because I literally had to put my son in a box at the hospital after I was done holding him, so the funeral home could come pick him up. It was just a really traumatic experience all around, and people say time heals your pain, but I don't believe that to be true. I just believe we learn how to cope with our losses better but it never gets easier... the pain never goes away. Until I see you again my sweet angel 😇 I hope you know that Mommy loves you and misses you each and every day. And I will always wonder what you would be like if you were here... He is our guardian angel along with my brother watching over us and ensuring we are okay. I believe they are resting in paradise, my sonshine, and bubba. I'm 18 now, and I have lived most of my life in severe depression. I was bullied non stop, family problems, etc. I tried taking my life away sophomore year... I am here today because I was able to hear and actually see my brother. He saved my life. He's my guardian angel. Most people didn't know that most of my depression came from my brothers death. He got killed by a train in London. He was forced to go to Poland (my hometown) but with him feeling lonely he went to London. I never really knew him but I know that as a baby, He loved me unconditionally. He was the first one to hold me when my mom gave birth and he was the only one holding her hand. I can't go a day without missing him. I wish that he can see me grow up because I have become the strongest person and I have confidence in that. I miss him so much. I was only and hour and couple minutes from dying, but I know that he wanted me to keep living this life so that one day when I'm able to see him, he'll hug me and for the first time I'll remember it.
