OK, you have to admit, out of all outdoor shows, this one ranks up there as one of the best produced/mixed performances ever... all nuances/intricacies were captured... brilliant!!!
you never heard what a fool believes with michael mcdonald ? heart to heart ? this is it ? lol and a whole slew of others, …..how could anyone not detect the soul in him.
@@user-qx3nt4gr3c I'll be honest, I never listened to Kenny. I had this song stuck in my head after watching "Summer Rental" with John Candy. When I typed in "Footloose" this performance came up, and I liked it better than the studio version from the movie. I'll have to check out some of the tunes you mentioned.
I agree this he is the best song write in the music business and his album is highest rated and movie thame of caddyshack he will be the best vocalist he got to be in Grammys for his performance great personal
This particular song is so ripe for all the variations that you can find online. Not a big fan of Loggins, but this song is an absolute gift from the Muses!
Dear Hearts: this song helped me thru the pandemic....showed me there was sanity (and pure joy) to be found. Many thanks to all the musicians and to Kenny Loggins for creating this testament to the healing that music gives...All Love
Whoever made the post about being lied to, I want you to know that I work as a caregiver for the elderly. I watched clients implode emotionally and was helpless to stop it. I was unable to see MY family for months. I don't give a DAMN if this is COVID or a reframed cold/flu. What I care about is the SHIT we have had to endure. Seeing ways of life be totally upended almost turned me into a recluse To read your comment shows a lack of empathy, and I'm being kind here. To read your introduction blurb where you claim to be a god is arrogant IMHO but live and let live. Go out,, do some honest work to help others and THEN get back to me about all this insanity that is happening. See how you are changed by it if you have the courage to examine yourself and your motivations for living your life. Leave me alone to find what peace I can in music that brings some joy to my heart. All Love
I've seen Kenny Loggins in concert many times. However, THIS is one concert I wish had called my name. Everything about this show is even more incredible than past concerts I attended, which includes the gorgeous Redwoods setting. Thank you, Kenny, for the wonderful music all these years. You're absolutely amazing!
I just saw him in concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday night and he's still got every bit of this, even at 74 years old. The man is just a powerhouse. I feel so grateful that I finally got the chance to see him perform Live. Especially incredible was the first half when he was joined by Jim Messina for the 50th anniversary of their debut album, "Sitting In," and performance at the Bowl to promote it. "House at Pooh Corner" had the entire audience singing along in tears, and "Footloose" had 17,000 people on their feet dancing. And when he introduced this song, he told the audience how it wasn't coming together as a "boy/girl" song, and then his father was having life-or-death surgery and they talked about how he was "all right" if this was the end for him, so Loggins got back to the studio and reworked it to be in tribute to his dad. Thankfully, he pulled through and made a full recovery. Absolutely amazing show. I'll be digesting it for a long time.
I’m a 40-year-old Puerto Rican from Brooklyn and it goes to show how far music reaches I love Kenny Loggins and this song especially it always lifts my spirits And I love Caddyshack HaAnd oh my god he’s fine
I never had MTV or VH1, none of that, growing up. Only recently, in the past 10 years or so, have been discovering various artists, being able to put faces to names and names to songs. Kenny Loggins is absolutely one of the best singers, writers, with amazing variety of genres in music!! I'm incredibly impressed! This band is 💯
I did my parental duty and exposed my then teeny bopper to good music. This album of course, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Dobbie Brothers, all of it. I have a massive stereo and gave her some high wattage music therapy. She loved listening to it with me and has a strong interest in classic rock as a result. Fast forward, she is 22 now, an "A" student in college. and now a guitar player in a student rock band. Thankfully she has her guitars, gave her something to focus on during COVID.
Yes, both Steve Conn (accordion) and Sonny Landreth are Louisianans. This entire band must be the most perfect collaboration in the history of live music!
I was half expecting Chevy Chase and Rodney to putt a couple of balls around the stage. How cool would that have been? I can't help but instantly thinking about that crazy gopher every time I hear this song.
Magic extraordinary performance, wow I even cry this is one of the best live performance ever seen,,, (am am professional musician for 45 years (Québec, canada) I can tell you this is fantastic.... merci..
And Chris Rodriguez as your TONTO,,,,, !!!!!!....... THIS WAS SUCH A PHENOMINAL CONCERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The plethora of FAAAAAAABULUS musicians and Kenny Vocals - just SUBLIME !!!!!!
Omg. Most fun I've had in 2020! Thanks for sharing. I had this CD back in the day and loved it! What a blast to hear it again and SEE it!! What a bunch of mastery on the stage! Cheers! 💕🌻🎼🎶🎙🎷🎹🎸🥁🪘☮
100% My All-time favorite arrangement of this soul-satisfying song❣I swear it's so good it brings tears to my eyes!!! Wish we could've been friends, Kenny, you have fed and revived my spirit So.Many.Times over the decades!!! Love you to ♾❣
Hey pool tub I was noticing the same thing. This stage show took a lot of money just to pay the band! Amazing how he belts it out. He is not holding back a single note of passion. It is the slide guitar that really makes it also. The accordion player ain't too shabby. Honorable definite mention to the harmonica man.(I think I just might throw my 32 harmonicas away). Drum solo is us.And the swingin backup singers... Most incredible a performance. Peace,... out there everybody. Have a good one.[I will be 74 in June and I was at the supermarket and the bag girl said to me as I was leaving:"have a good one! I asked her a good what. And she looked at me like I was an old weirdo. She didn't know how to respond; like I was from planet x. She started to look around for someone of her associates to help her to get this old guy out of here! Exclamation point. I finally let her off The Hook by saying:"you have a good day also." She'll probably tell the story to her friends and family for sure! I was in Buxton Maine and I have come to learn that youngsters from the country [I'm talking real country values,] are very polite and considerate of us ol 'fuddy duddies'.(wonder where i picked that one up?). Looking back on the event, I wonder how she would have reacted if I had said:"don't mind me, I'm just an old fuddy duddy." Laterz from this old folk song singer."will meet again someday on the avenue". I hope we're not all tangled up in blues.
Simply fantastic, entertaining, love, love, ... this show...! Would love to see the show in Las Vegas....man o' man would I love to see your show. What an entertainer...! Thanks for sharing!
They do not *AT ALL* make music, or even talent, like this anymore. Real instruments. Real voices. Real soul. Bouncing and knocking off those Redwoods.
Almost got fired because I took several day off to go that concert. One of the best memories I have. Amazing talent and vibes that created an energy I had never felt before - or since.
Saw Kenny Loggins solo in ‘78. Can still picture his tight green legging pants 😅. Phenomenal talent, love his voice, this band is groovy great. Love the Cajun Feel Good starting in the middle.
That's a great venue just outside Santa Cruz, Cal. I was at this concert, and it was just as spectacular as you think it was. Awesome talent all over that stage.
Saw Caddyshack (again) and thought I'd look into the guy who sung this. I must say, I wasn't expecting such harmony and synchronized musicianship. Everyone does a superb job at making a campy, silly movie into a credible, memorable must see video. Not bad at all.
Best musicians ever~In case you’re still trying to hear more. While I don’t know of recent collaborations, I do have little info... -Chris Rodriguez has been one of the most in-demand session vocalists and guitarists for four decades. He has a solo album featuring his vocals and guitar -Beggar’s Paradise that is worth the complete download. He has provided backing vocals for many well-known artists and, in truth, often makes their songs all that they should be. -Sonny Landreth on the slide is a true Zydeco legend and has worked with Eric Clapton. -Steve Conn on the accordion is another Louisiana music legend. He is a singer, songwriter, and has recorded impressive solo albums. Strong Louisiana influence in his music. He often collaborates with Landreth. -Howard Levy on harmonica and he is also a who’s who with an impressive body of work.
