I was lucky enough to be at this live-studio-audience recording. Kenny Loggins is my favorite recording artist. I can see myself in the audience to the right of the stage. They told us to wear bright colors. I had on a fuchsia dress. It was a Sound Stage Production featuring Kenny Loggins. It was filmed in Chicago on August 3, 2016. (Not 2017). Michael McDonald was a guest performer for only a few songs. Musician Thundercat, David Foster were other musicians and performer who did a few songs with KL. The show was awesome because KL is such a perfectionist that he kept stopping the recording if he didn’t like the way it was going. Then he would make everyone do a retake. We got to see it all. It was wonderful. The recording went from 7:30pm-10:30pm. I loved every moment. It was filmed at the WTTW Studios @5400 N. St. Louis, Chicago, IL. We got special invites and pricing for being paid members of our local PBS Station in Chicago. I specifically remember the date and I’m looking at pictures right now that we I took while waiting in line to get in. This was a very memorable day for me. Then the very next month, Michael McDonald filmed his episode for Sound Stage. I was there, too! It took quite sometime before the recording aired - it could very well have been in 2017 when KL’s it hit the airwaves. Anyway, thank you FFF for posting this!

Kenny is so gracious to the magnificence of Michael... However, Kenny deserves top accolades here...he is at peak form form and is right up there with Michael in terms of his soulness and performance...and David Foster....what a dream team! And those amazing backup singers know this as well. this is REAL talent here, folks, not what is music today....

Hardcore singing, no bullshit effects, no Autotune, just technique, and tons of feel and passion... Brilliant musicianship.

As a Sound Engineer myself for over 30 years I am amazed at the great sound mix for these great performers! Don't get fooled by the grey hair! You don't improvise experience and talent!

After hearing these two guys sing, I now realize I was honored to listen to the best music ever made.

Neither Loggins or McDonald have seemingly lost a bit of their voices. Rarely do you hear singers continue to sound stellar over the course of their career. Time tends to takes a toll on the vocal chords. But whatever they’ve done over the years to protect their voices - combined with God’s good grace in blessing their instruments - has given us even better performances out of them both.

Kenny looks and sounds like he’s been in a time capsule! Awesome! That sax player is special, wow!💪👌

The harmony at 10:55 on "She". Damn. Autotune or not, I was not expecting that to hit so clear, and then McDonald rips out "Had a place in his life". The man is a senior citizen kids. Bow down in respect.

Micheal Macdonald really has an incredibly soulful voice. David Foster knows 0:44. More importantly, this is an extremely joyful set. It’s a 15 minute giggle. The band knows.

A lot of people don’t realize that Kenny Loggins wrote this song about his father. His father had been diagnosed with some serious heart problems...... that makes this a very moving song.

The youth of today is missing such great music. I play this with my sunroof open driving to Jersey shore with my daughter who's 33. I'm 70. We were privileged to enjoy such a great artists. This music should last forever!!!!!

In 2011 I had the pleasure, the pleasure, the pleasure! of seeing Michael McDonald in concert! Boz Scaggs was featured with him, and I was thinking "Nobody wants to see Boz Scaggs!" OMG! That was the best! concert I had ever seen. Boz Scaggs sung his butt off!!! And Michael McDonald!!!! He was so fantastic!!! I can't put it into words!!!

This music makes me want to go back and stay there. Nothing compares.
