My dad Rory Bourke wrote this song along with Mike Reid who is a wonderful lyricist too. The video shows Kenny with his son of course but it was actually written as a gift from my dad to my sister Kelley who was having a rough time of life in high school. It was a song for her to cheer her up. Years later Kenny Rogers picked up the song and he told my dad “I’m glad people are still writing good material like this today.” Of course the song was already a decade old, waiting for the right voice to find it. It was my dad’s second Kenny Rogers hit.

Actually it was a song written by my dad Rory Bourke for my sister. Co-writer was Mike Reid. Dad wrote it as a gift for my sister who was having a rough time in high school. Kenny found the song years later and sent it out to the world.
