I agree I was hoping for more rides this year plainly with 2 rides that nromoly are opened with Turtle and Gran Prix both going through a refurbishment that it would be perfect to add back the pirate to the list and assuming spinvasion can run in the cold add that to equal it out! Who knows maybe the list will change and there add spinvasion or a different ride or 2 I did ask the park about the pirate and Spinvasion not being included and they said the list is not finalized yet so while unlikely maybe at least one will be added to the list this year

Maybe someone from Kennywood will see this video and be like “Oh, we are being grinches. Let’s give our guests two more rides to make up for the two that are closed.” Then we see later on that their heart had grown three sizes bigger. I can always dream, but it would surely be nice to have something to make up for the ride closures… especially since those 2 rides would typically be open during the event anyways.

I was hoping for Spinvasion but I understand this is Kennywood and this event is more or less designed to just be about Christmas decorations. I didn't know about the 40 degree requirement on Jack Rabbit but I am new to regularly visiting the park. I may make it out but the thing is that Kings Island's lineup kind of craps all over this just because I can ride Mystic Timbers below freezing.

I don’t recall racer ever being open for Holiday Lights anyways, and I’ve also heard apparently it cannot make it through the course in the cold. But even if it did, it would probably have a temperature requirement like Jack Rabbit, probably 40° since that’s the cutoff for a lot of the rides. But never say never.

I think it’s a pretty good line up of rides. Just remember it’s winter and you’re more there for the lights than the rides. Honestly it could go back to when they first started the Holliday lights and have like 3 rides open. Just remember think about it you are there for the light and the light show they put on not to be riding stuff. You had all summer and fall to ride.

still, maybe just pirate open? I’m not asking for nothing too big lol. I’m not out here saying, “KENNYWOOD YOU BETTER OPEN STEEL CURTAIN FOR HOLIDAY LIGHTS!” because that’s crazy talk.

@@RMsteelerfan7 oh I understand where you are coming from. Just a lot of people think if kennywood is open a lot of rides should run. Or just don’t understand what Holliday lights are about. I mean I’ve seen people go to this thinking everything is open and are let down on the rides. Like I said if Kennywood went back to what they first did a lot of people would be mad or disappointed. 5 rides or however many they have isn’t bad.

@@lostsheep2640there is really 6 rides open and thomas town and kiddieland. i’m not asking for rollercoasters just area 412 and/or pirate since we are losing turtle and grand prix this year

2 rides make a difference, and that’s why I recommend to add 2 more rides to make up for it. And if not, then it’s kind of sad. It’s unlikely Kennywood’s heart will grow three sizes bigger by Christmas, so I highly doubt they’d do anything.

i really thought pirate, spinvasion and cosmic chaos were going to be open. i know last year cosmic chaos and pirate couldn't bc of construction, but i thought they'd be open this year. they really don't have any major ride besides jackrabbit

The reason why I don't bother with Holiday Lights is because most of the good rides are closed.

I actually saw that but this isn’t to do with the holiday lights or anything but when I was at kennywood last week I saw dummies on steel curtain they weren’t testing it but I saw it when I went on the racer I really hope it reopens in 2024

And steel curtain is my favorite ride which sucks
