That, also love and dedication to something is rare nowadays. I've actually saw the documentary on how Kenshi was made, and I gotta say, mad props to the Developer for sacrificing his entire life for this game. Wish All developers were like that, especially back then, when they'd actually playtest, put some effort, and not make a hot garbage mess.

They are working on a kenshi 2 now. Regularly sending updates about development.

I actually couldn't buy it at first because their site was still down from the sheer number of people trying to buy the game, so I pirated it and just bought a legal copy later.

Not just a great game, but a review needing reactions, since they have the worst marketing strategy on the planet: word of mouth. I'm lucky I discovered it through a different reaction channel. 10/10

@@MundaneDave Well, to be fair: if you're in it for the long haul, you don't really care as much about getting all of your sales in the first fiscal quarter or whatever. It could use an ad or two somewhere though, ngl.

@@MundaneDave evidently, it isn’t an issue. I imagine the single dev now has enough capital to work on it for several more years, and he seems like he wants to finish it before it goes up on storefronts. After that, he’s a millionaire with just a few ads and youtube reviews.

Is it really the rebirth of civilization though? The UC are nothing more than slaver towns ruled by half-mad egomaniacs. Holy Nation is a dogmatic theocracy, ruled by a deluded Fanatic and his army of Zealots. Shek Kingdom is a Police State that values strength over any other attribute, even to the point of the latter's detriment. And their cities are pretty much townships, not really great cities where thousands live. And as of recent history, all nations are basically on a decline because of their extreme failings in their respective ways. UC not realising that continuing the slaver trend will only cause more and more rebels to appear. HN not taking a step back and re-evaluating how twisted their behavior is to people who simply don't want to be a part of their religion. And Shek with their dumb warrior code of dying in a glorious battle leading to Shek willfully going on suicide attacks just to measure their trouser swords with each other, instead of focusing on securing their people's existence. Hivers are hivers. They're a completely different type of species, and they're as much of a civilization as an ant colony is, if ant colonies produced cheap knockoff robotics and sell them way overpriced for their quality. It's speculated that they are the original species on Kenshi's planet, before humans came. Can we consider what is essentially humanoid, sentient insects that operate in a Hive structure as a "civilization"? Especially if you consider that they live in actual mud and puke huts. If anything, it's the further decline of civilization. Maybe only the Shek were headed into the right path at the current point in the timeline after Esata took over.

@@stankobarabata2406 I mean, those kinds of societies existed in real life, and now we have moved forward. If those societies didn't exist in the game, there wouldn't be anything to improve on.
