Do not let the rocket winner of the Kentucky Derby in Taiba slip thru your hands he is the only horse with speed and a turbo engine outburst hence all closers will certainly be too late to catch him his name is TAIBA
Rich Strike ,,, Mind That Bird .” ?? I think we can all agree that- excluding the outlier (Epicenter) their 2022 Kentucky Derby - favored horses that are considered “closers” When a horse is considered a “closer” = most likely the horse is “physically fit” ,, has physical ability let me know ‘ horse people
What would be interesting is that one of Baffert's Derby winners had been trained by another trainer up until a few weeks before the Derby and the former trainer got no credit. Baffert got the credit for War Emblem's victory when the work was done by another trainer. It would be fitting that if Messier or Taiba wins we don't have to hear Baffert's name again. He is a repeat offender with many drug violations and I am so proud of Chufchill Downs doing the right thing for the sport. The evil empire you speak of is not Chufchill Downs but the barn of Bob Baffert. To ignore his drug violations and the number of horses of his that have died is to not care about the horses.
Yeah I was wondering about that angle as well. The evil empire comment was sarcasm. A lot of Churchill's (CDI) decisions probably don't go over well with racing fans, such as selling Arlington or Hollywood Park but from a business decision and a shareholder's perspective they are smart moves and profiting big time. Such as the place where Hollywood Park used to be is now a NFL Stadium that just hosted the Super Bowl. I always tell people that Churchill is a gaming company, even though the name Churchill is associated with racing and the Derby and some of it's greatest assets are the land that they own. As a racing fan it is understandable to call them an Evil Empire but from a busines person and investor you can see why they make the moves they do. They know the future of gaming looks different than it did 50 years ago. I appreciate the comment Ricky!
Seems like there's always a story around the Derby winner. Maybe this year Saez redeems himself after what happened a few years ago or maybe Lukas or Smith win one at their age or maybe Chad Brown gets his 1st. Just another angle to think about.
You were right on about a story!!! I couldn't imagined that is the story we would be talking about though! Wow! Good call about the Lukas story. Well done!
I can't argue with that. It is clear recent history as well as historically Kentucky Derby is primarily won by horses near the front the of the pace. Hopefully 1 or 10's talent can buck that trend.
That's true. The days of horses like Secretariat is over. I wonder if some of these 'expert picks' are just a bullshit way to grow the pot while they bet another way.
That's right! That's the beauty of it. Everyone has an opnion and we can back our opnions up at the windows and see how it plays out. Makes it a great game!
Liked your show,go ahead and blast me but im going tiz the bomb,wps,3-5-7-8-9-tri,super ,do you think i have a shot ???My friend says 4-7-10 or in order 7-10-4 we are betting heavy
Thanks for making a comeback for the Derby with your great videos!! Good luck to you Saturday! I'm going with win bets on the 15 and the 13 and maybe the 12 depending on the odds.. Gonna build rest of my tickets around the 1, 3, 6, 13 and 15.
I apprecaite that Greg! It is good to be back and had great time with the Derby as always. Hope you did well at the track and that life is treating you well!
Take a chance , don't bet the chalks , 13,14,15,and 16 is just the same as any in this race , If you need ( need) to bet the favorite then bet 3over the 13,24,15and16 in ex , tri , and super and I'll see you in the winner circle...
This year it looks or appears to have at least five horses or more that will go for the lead, does this set up for a suicidal speed duel of multiple horses setting it up for the closers to come streaming to the finish line, unless of course, you think Mike Smith thinks he is the speed of the speed to take it wire to wire,if Taiba grabs the lead it might be tough, but the closer are out in force this season. It could be the kind of speed that runs second getting caught at the finish line in the same fashion Smarty Jones did and Mike's horse ran second.
I got the pace scenario that gave the best chance for the 1 and 10 to win but sadly they couldn't get it done. But you were right about the race setting up for a closer to close in on. Good job!
@@Weekendhandicapper lwent to otb 4th race and put 20 on all the longest shots through the 11th. Fancy handicaping! Man is the horse establishment mad today! A 30 claimed cause of a Japanese stretch out sprinter 😃
@@Weekendhandicapper it did except I didn't get to pick one until they were at the gate. But the horse I chose did win. I always use visual, have since I was a child. Dad always called me while he was betting, always won. 👍

I have no clue if any of this is good advice, but based on the amount of knowledge and effort needed to make your comment in the first place.. something tells me your advice is as/more sound than any other comment to be found in this thread! Thanks for the post!
Yep. If it wasn't for the 21 Rich Strike would have had a nice exacta. Hard to say chalk when the race favorite is 4-1. Could have returned a profit if not for an 80-1 winning. Good job if you had that horse.
@@Equalizer241 Define chalk? If you bet the favorite and it is 4-1 it is "chalk" Getting 4-1, 6-1 or 10-1 isn't good enough odds for you? You won't bet any horse at good odds just because they are the lowest odds and the most likely winners in a 20 horse field? Explain yourself Sheldon.. If my picks were 7/5,8/5,9/5 or 5/2 you would have any argument. If I bet a horse at 4-1 and it is the favorite and I win then I get a nice return on my bet. If that is so called chalk then I am fine with it.
@@Weekendhandicapper In a 20 horse field. The money is spread apart. vs if it was just a 6 or 7 horse field. So when u have a 20 horse field and you get odds of 4-1 5-1 even 6-1 those would be considered chalk. Sure the returns aren't bad. Anyone can pick chalk all day. True handicappers would go further in detail and look for a horse that's gonna pay even better. Not saying your not a good handicapper by no means.
