Both teams looked like garbage for HUGE portions of this game. Highlights will, of course, never reflect that.

I don't buy both teams looked like garbage. When two evenly matched teams play each other, the so called beautiful basketball will not happen. You have the typical sizing each other up, a little bit of anticipation. And both teams trying to out play each other. In the 2nd. half however, both teams played spectacular basketball as both teams consistently went on spurts. Again, UNC & UK are two virtually evenly matched basketball programs.

Gale Hess hes got talent for sure and hes progressed over the course of the season into a kevin love kind of guy. He had his first career double double last game and was definitely the x factor this game.

Playing small-ball rotations also makes the opponent's zone stronger, without a true SF role to work around the foul line. Williams was right to zone, but Cal should have put Willis or Gabriel at the 3 slot and ran traditional hi-lo plays to off-set the zone. Darius Miller was the best zone buster I ever saw at kentucky. He'd flash hi post on the foul line and turn and read and re-act. Plus, he was a 6'9" SF with range and great fundamentals on the defensive end.

Willis should have been green lit to have more isolated plays set for him to score. He was a mismatch problem for Carolina. Regardless, it was an outstanding game between two heavyweight programs. I only wished these two teams had an opportunity to play in the Final Four instead of the Elite 8. I still scratch my head on why UK was a 2nd. seed in this tournament.

Duke definitely should not have been a two seed. They got hot late and was gift wrapped a 2 seed. Honestly, UNC was gift wrapped a top seed. But I do agree that UNC was the best team out of an extremely overrated ACC Conference this year.

perfectlemonade is correct....Roy William's offensive philosophy is to have his players immediately push the ball back up the court as soon as the opposition scores a field goal, and for them to respond back by scoring quickly. Many teams use the same strategy. The only difference is that Roy William's coaching style and players are slightly more talented than most teams. Coach Calipari often uses the same philosophy too with the talent he often has with many of his heavily talented UK players. Basically UK and UNC were two very evenly matched teams. It was an outstanding game. I'm a UNC fan through and through, but I think UK should have been a top seed in this tournament and were a bit hosed. Regardless, I'm glad UNC won.

Almost 2 seconds after the 3point shot to make the score tied. The coach should be in focus and attention to call a timeout. But he don't pay attention instead he joins celebrating and shouting. What the coach was that? His players try hard as much as they can but this coach don't do his job.

You call time out it lets them set up a play as well and then you have to worry about scoring again.. GOOD call by coach cal, he put trust that they would tightly mark but Briscoe lost his man, it happens but better chance than letting them go and trying to score again

+Jun Igan Even in those almost 2 seconds, a ref has to hear the coach calling timeout. With the crowd noise and the quick inbounding, the refs likely didn't hear him. He was trying to call timeout. Did you watch the game? Clearly not.

I am a 55 year old UK fan and I'm not remembering all the times we ripped your hearts out. Unless you think losing a regular season game equals getting your heart ripped out, and even that didn't happen very often.

Kentucky inbounded the ball by throwing it full court. However, it went out of bounds without anyone touching it. So Carolina got the ball back with no time taken off the clock.
