Great unit but with 4 faults:
1. The display which turns off when unit warms up (capacitors and zener are OK).
2. Motor that is sometimes hesitant to start but otherwise works OK
3. Player distorts audio on tracks located further away from CD centre.
Any educated ideas?
I can't spend too much time on it now, because I have Wadia 581 SACD to finish and then fix another SACD player from Musical Fidelity (kW), but I certainly will have a good go at it.

Hi Roman, As I said before I have the Kenwood DP8010 with exactly the same mechanism but a different Laser. Mine is also in Pristine condition and reads anything within an Instance. I am fascinated by watching the mechanism in and out. I have replaced the loading belts only. I use it as a Transport and it is stunning.

Disc could be sitting to low on the spindle, sometimes they do slip, also check voltages and get the service manual for adjustments this is well worth the effort.

Maybe your losing voltage and the voltage the motor is getting isn't enough to start motor ' and speed should always be one set point 'I'd check voltage 1st motor could be getting weak as well hate to say it nice player though! Got me a new toy in just uploaded picks new Denon pma 1700
