thanks Mark I owned one when it first came out, two years ago, I sold it several months later but I had no trouble getting it to work digital I’ve now run a FTDX5000MP and am much happier
Nice rig...The set up still looks a bit complicated. I used signal link before and had it working for PSK and CW. Unfortunately Windows I believe did a up grade and I lost all of my COMPORTS. I tried for hours to reinstall the software comports. I was using a Yaesu 101D and the software never reinstalled for my logging program or other data. I gave up the challenge for days and went back, regrouped and tried again. Still no luck. I am in the process of selling my home and moving back to Wyoming. I have sold all of my radio gear and have been thinking of starting over with a small station. The TS 890 is no small radio or investment but it should last me the remainder of my ham years. Maybe for me the KISS principal is the best. "Keep It Simple Stupid." LOL. Was wondering if downloading the drivers from Kenwood is any easier than from Yaesu or Icom? I may just use SSB with a dipole and go barefoot. It was a kick to use PSK on less than 10 watts and make contacts all over the world. No amp needed!
