For over forty years James Weru Mureithi has lived within the confines of Naivasha and kamiti Maximum Security Prisons. Sentenced to death in 1974 for killing a friend, Mureithi has lived through the anguish of a never ending wait for the hangman. But as Michael Njenga reports there is hope for Mureithi and others like him following the creation of the power of mercy committee which reviews such cases for possible release.
