His success comes down to mindset imo. Most Coleman’s flaws can be addressed, n if he’s willing to take a mental beating from not being perfect in training, then he’ll grow in no time. If he’s more stubborn… who knows.
Young guys can improve but their rate of improvement is never linear. That said a good idea is to have Coleman be a complimentary piece in a talented group of receivers until he works more on his overall game. Because he's certainly not the type of receiver who will deliver with double digit targets going for him in his rookie year.
People care way too much about his 40 time of 4.61. One thing people also forget is how much smaller Dbs are getting Larry Fitzgerald, 4.63 Jerry Rice, 4.71 And these two have the 1st and second most receiving yards in NFL history and theyre slower than coleman. Keenan Allen, 4.71 Hopkins. 4.57 Davante Adams, 4.56 Cooper Kupp, 4.62 Coleman will be fine.
@@a-love-supremistlol, the Bill's fans are going to expect day 1 production, this guy sounds like a big time project for anything other than go routes and come back. Good thing they have kincaid
This analysis is right on. He can’t separate. No twitch and just can’t separate against ACC dbs. He’s a jump ball specialist, that’s it. I think he’ll be a real red zone weapon, but he’s like a Number 3 WR.
5:15 caught me SO off guard 💀. So glad to see this dive into Coleman. I think he’ll be a great WR2 or 3 with his catch radius but I worry that he’s gonna be a massive bust if he gets picked in the first two rounds as a new X guy for any team.
Maybe I'm just glazing, but I really see him succeeding in the red zone so much, it offsets some of his short comings. If he can fill the role of a slightly faster Evan Engram, I think he can be a top 10 wr2
I think his attitude an locker room likeability will be such a boost for this team! Bills have been knocking on door for years now an diggs has made it very uncomfortable on sideline/locker room this dude is goin to have a party with allen weekly!!
Really good breakdown. I think he still can be a 2nd or 3rd rounder. His best football is ahead of him. I’m not sure if anyone knows this but he was a basketball player first that happens to be good at football so the WR position is still new to him. He’s also training with coach DROB out in Texas who is one of the best WR trainers in the country. I don’t think he’ll ever have the burst but if can continue to change temp during his routes he’ll be just fine.
I feel the narrative that how a WR prospect will fare against NFL DB's on the next level is severely flawed. Just throw it out. It's like this is the number one box that a prospect has to check coming into the league and it's severely overblown. Everyone talks about how the game has changed and all positions are smaller. Yet everyone forgets to mention that DB's have gotten smaller too. For every Sauce Gardner and Christian Gonzalez there's like 25 Db's who are small and struggle holding up in coverage. This is why you see less Cb's drafted on day 1 or even the top 15 compared to the past. So, while we are seeing more and more smaller quicker WR's we are also seeing more smaller and quicker corners as well. It doesn't mean Coleman won't dominate and punish those corners. All 32 teams do not have 2 starting corners who are big and physical. Coleman will be just fine. He can catch the football lol and last I checked that's the most important thing for a WR.
Its gonna come down to where he goes i feel. I want him in the first round just because I think he's just such a perfect fit for that offense. You could have 6 different offensive players that can dominate their respective games its so juicy
I will say one thing I think this video did miss A little bit, is some of Coleman’s success lined up on the inside, when they didn’t just have him running go routes all game, and despite a lack of a great measurable 40 time he is really fluid with his movement and excellent with the ball in his hand. Despite his size FSU used him as a returner and he was great at making people miss. He’s not a perfect prospect but calling him fringe day 3 is pretty harsh
I think a lot of the issues came from him knowing he can just go up on a majority of guys, idk if this can be fixed with coaching. But he will be humbled in the nfl. And I think if coached properly he can really be a game changer as a #2 in a couple years
The head of NFL films called him "a more controlled, stronger version of Courtland Sutton". With the right QB and situation, there is a great chance he has a long, effective NFL career.
the "Bad" has nothing to do with Coleman, that is the routes designed, he was doing what was asked of him, coach said "just throw it up to coleman" that was the play call. the "bad" seems pretty good because he was still successful with only having "limited route diversity" so teams and players knew what he was gonna do and still couldn't stop him lol sounds pretty elite IMO, didn't they say Steve Smith couldn't run routes too out of college? FUNNY HOW THINGS WORK I'm sure the NFL will be having Keon Coleman running more routes then back shoulder fades, tho if it ain't broke don't fix it i think he drop 4 passes his entire career. cool video tho lol
What I like the most about this young man is how truly responsible and mature, he is, his Personna, his demeanor, and definitely especially his disposition is all in sync with his complete Aura. This young man knows where he’s at, and he damn sure knows where he’s going. The emphasis of his infectious personality is very contagious, yes; that’s because this young man knows what he wants.! And when I found out that he put our God Amighty first and he’s undergoing tutelage with the great Andre Reed, yes the NO. 83 receiver for the Buffalo Bills known as The Middleman, who invented the Slot Receiver Position Hall of Famer Andre Reed❗️ He reached out to Mr. Andre Reed on his own accord. He said he’s trying to get all the tidbits he can and if that’s not planning ahead and being responsible for a head on impact at his position, then Bills Mafia I truly don’t know what it is ❗️ he even said he’s ready to jump through tables with the Buffalo Bills fan base❣️
You should drop adonai mitchell very intrigiuinging size, long speed route running fluidiity and change of direction with good tracking hes a top 5 wr this class with a lot of attention to route detail for a bigger guy who is so athletic also
I wish the Bills had grabbed AD Mitchell, he didn't end up getting picked up until 52 in the second round. Bills could have grabbed Mitchell at 33 AND gotten Coleman next instead of Bishop, and Bishop would have been there in round 3, guaranteed.
The comments be funny as hell when y'all personally like a player😂😂.If he didn't have the personality he did these comments would be VERY different. Can't wait to see him develop with Josh!
He truly is Mike Thomas with no speed. With the right team would be exceptional moving chains but that is about all of his game. With a pinpoint accuracy from a qb he will be great anywhere else he will be a thrown away pick
Man… I’ve seen enough slander needed something positive Ik his route running a problem but his situation was bad (stupidly unfair route tree and still has upside to develop route running). I’m positive yk all this and i acknowledge his bust potential but falling outside the second round seems way too harsh let alone the third
Lack of separation and burst in tight spaces makes me think he's closer to a 3rd/4th Johnny Wilson is toolsy - and has a good release for someone that tall - but he moves like Bambi, and catches like him too
@@Revealingstorm. Where a team drafts a player and what round grade I have on them have nothing to do with eachother I had a 6th/7th round grade on Zach Wilson - he went 2nd coverall
I want to believe the Bills will utilize him better, plus Allen can push the ball downfield which will take advantage of Keon's jumpball ability. Plus redzone he'll be dangerous. I hope he does well, he's certainly one of the luckiest receivers in the draft, outside of the LSU guy going to the Chiefs lol
Believe me, as a Chiefs fan I'm desperate for a guy who can catch the damn ball, but Coleman looks like a 5th round pick to me. I watch him plodding around aimlessly and I just think he's never going to get open in the NFL. Definitely worth a roster spot as a red zone specialist, but that's about it.
I see your point, but not every one needs to seperate, Coleman is more of a 50/50 guy and comes down to QB type than anything else. He'll do well with a strong arm QB
This kids gonna be a great WR2, and his stock going down is gonna serve him greatly in the long run. If this guy landed w a trash can franchise he’d probably struggle. Get this guy next to Zay Flowers, Baltimore.
As a Bills season ticket holder I was apoplectic during the draft and this deeper examination only makes me feel even worse. The conclusion about what he needs for success in the NFL (deep receiver room to learn from) is the opposite of what Buffalo has. In fact we easily have bottom 25% of league.
@@ThinkingFootballwhich WR do you think the panthers should be taking we got the 33rd and 39th pick We got an old thielen, diontae Johnson, and a couple young guys in mingo and Marshall
I want my ravens to somehow trade higher into the 1st round to draft dejean or jc Latham. If that doesn’t happen, I hope we trade back into the 2nd and get Coleman.
@@joeschmoe435 Here's just a few forty times, Shakir 4.43, Samuel 4.31, Cook 4.42 so yeah they have some speed on offense especially after they hopefully draft Troy Franklin in the fourth round.
I have mixed feelings about these breakdowns. There’s a fine line between great analysis and knitpicking. Imagine a WR picks up 60 yards but someone says “he doesn’t have the burst to take it all the way” it’s a great play nonetheless is it not? A play that would be valuable to an NFL team?
Agreed, he has a lot of maturing to do to be considered more than a WR2. I see him late 2nd early 3rd also. If someone takes him early it will be his downfall.
I feel like the Bills have 3 of the same kind of receiver in Shakir, Samuel, and Hollins. Keon brings that vertical, box-you-out aspect that the others don't. If Josh can put it up where the cookie jar is, Keon is more than capable of snagging them.
I see Mack as more of a 50/50 possession guy/RZ target in Brady's system, ...along with Coleman and Knox/Kincaid, and potentially Shorter. With Curtis Samuel and Shakir playing more slot/speed roles ala Cole Beasley. I was leaning toward Legette, but if Josh prefers him, I'd give him a good shot. Overall, a little early to tell, but seems like Buffalo had a productive draft. Let's goooooooo
@@brianjackson3137 I hear you. Pre-Draft I had Keon Coleman listed in my "won't complain if we land him" group, and would have preferred Legette. But after doing some digging, Keon really only lacks in one area, ...blazing speed, and we all know how well that translates to NFL production, lol. Aside from that, there is not a single receiver in this draft who can high point or just flat out catch, ...better than Keon. He really does have spectacular catching ability. At the end of the day, I was really hoping for a bigger-framed physical receiver for Josh to be able to rely upon on 50/50 balls, and just a solid wideout in general. Well, ...we have him. Welcome to Buffalo Keon!.
He was rated as a top 35-40 prospect on most evaluators boards so going at 33 is pretty close with his value if you actually know what your looking at...
This Kid is a No2 at best, I understand letting the Jags overpay Gabe Davis in free agency, Trading Diggs is a classic cutting off your nose to spite your face move. You have a top 5 QB without top 5 talent at WR
He’s 20 years old and was a two sport athlete a lot of his “negatives” is due to him being young in the sport. He averaged 30 a game in hs in basketball. Hopefully with the coaching staff in buffalo he’ll learn these very teaching things
Its because hes meant to add weight and be a tight end. Hes a no huddle dream. Imagine if he learns the tight end position. Hed be able to play every skill position besides running back. Mismatch King. Faster than linebackers + jump over DB's.
all the things this narrator is saying about his bad side kinda feels like its coming from someone who doest watch football 7:19 bros a hater obvs.......... hes not taking the rep off at all are u blind??????????????????
Let’s kill the narrative that a high draft pick has to be a complete, ready to dominate player from Day 1 in the league. Does that happen sometime? Sure it does, but all these analysts are so quick to devalue guys that have a good foundation but could use some development at the professional level.
That's not really a narrative - more a product of reality. Outside of positions where pure athleticism can dominate (RB/EDGE) most guys need a prerequistive skill level to be compettitve with the 1% that plays in the NFL. Can guys develop? ABSOLUTELY! Should unpolished guys demand a first rounder? No, thats why the draft is 7 rounds long.
Its called value. First round contract lends a 5th year option so teams at minimum are looking for solid starter material by day 1. Unless its a potential top 10 player in a high demand position like Edge. Which also works out for Day 2-3 picks because they are gotta do more to prove they are beyond depth chart guys and if their team believes in them, they will become starters sooner than later and be paid like one. In the end of the day it is just how business works for roster building in the NFL.
No, the Thinking Football team only makes one of the best, if not the best film breakdowns in existence. They're right all the time about players. I've been watching their channel for a year, and I also watched all of their content from the 2022 NFL draft class as well (before the SEC made them take their videos down). They haven't been wrong once in that 2 year span. These guys aren't hating, they're just being real.
congratulations Buffalo...thank you for Xavier Worthy...im glad you havent fallen too far I want to see ya'll in the playoffss again...I wasn't sad to see Gabe Davis leave to be honest
@@MrExoticDemon Well you said they're the same player. Coleman is not as fast as Moss, Coleman is not the route runner of Moss, Coleman does not have the deep threat ability of moss, Coleman does not have the separation of Moss, Coleman does not have the releases of Moss, Coleman does not have the explosiveness of Moss, Coleman does not have the fluidity of Moss, Coleman does not possess the nuance of Moss. It's not just the 40 time it's everything. I like Coleman but he is not Moss, no one is
First you stated, he is a late Day 1 early Day 2 pick, then just a few seconds later, you claimed he is closer towards a late Day 3 player, then at the end of the video you claimed he is a late Day 2 early Day 3 pick? Dude, it's as if you were convincing yourself throughout the video?
@@ThinkingFootball Broadcast angle? Dude what are you talking about? Concerning the All-22 aspect, in any other draft, he would have been a Top 15 pick, easily! But, in a draft, where it was predicted that it would have the most QBs picked, that added with the "NEEDS" for QB and defensive players by almost every team in the Top 15, added with the fact that almost every team who picked from 16th to 32th, didn't need a WR, so it was fairly easy to predict him as an early Day 2 pick. Keep in mind, you used the All-22 aspect knocking his NFL potential, but failed to realize what Michigan State lacked, and then how FSU's offense was constructed by Coach Norvell? FSU, had a huge run game, and we also had a huge beat on the opposite of the ball in Johnny Wilson, who was FSU's #1 check down option. THAT's why Coleman was used primarily for how he was used. Then, he is drafted by the Bills, who just loss two WRs and have a huge need at WR? Look, if the Bills were smart, they'd also draft FSU WR Johnny Wilson and that 3rd string WR from Ohio State and even the back-up at Washington! That added with the Bills' nearly perfect O-line, and a future HOF at QB, I only see positive momentum for the Bills, minus injury, of course. BTW, Keon Colemen, as a rookie, is already predicted to be the 12th WR picked in fantasy football! Why does that matter, the analytics, needs and talents states that he will be a BEAST!
Keon Coleman was a predicted First Round pick and if it was any other year, he would have been, because of the huge number of QBs picked and the no need for a WR by any team who picked 15th to 32nd. Those are FACTS! How anyone can openly claim Keon Coleman is NOT a #1 WR in the NFL is as asinine as it comes!
You claimed he is a slot receiver in the NFL? Yet, you claimed he has no pull-away speed, doesn't run routes, and takes plays off? Do you know what's required of a slot receiver? Dude, I am trying my best to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you remind me of someone who has never played the game, sitting on his couch, giving asinine analysis. One of your followers claim, your predictions have been on par, so I will go back and watch your older video to see if that holds up. I already can tell you, it may not.
@@sourcingsailor4987 you dont seem to understand the role of a slot receiver. Slot receivers dont need pull away speed,or fine tuned route running, big slots can win their routes with physicality, or simply knowing where the soft spots in a zone are. i.e. michael thomas, jarvis laundry, mark andrews
This creator literally cherry picks plays to forward his failed and flawed narrative? Next year, Keon Colemen will be the best rookie WR in the NFL, as the Bill's needs, their talented QB, their huge O-Line will literally aid Keon in developing extremely quickly! As a matter of fact, outside of either of the Top three QB's picked, I predict Keon Coleman to be the front-runner for Rookie of the Year!
