We drove out to Kerber's Farm, a place we had heard of and never been to, with some history to it.
Located in Huntington, NY the farm was opened in 1941 when Mr. Kerber put up his first chicken coop. Later it became well known for the quality baked goods, chickens, ice cream eggs and fresh produce he sold at the farm stand he opened at the foot of the property.
Fast forward to 2013 and the old farm was about to be "developed" like lost of the other farms in the area. But Nick Voulgaris who used to visit the shop as a kid with his family, hearing about Kerber's being doomed, stepped in and bought and restored the property hoping to continue the Kerber legacy into the future.
