Florida State Trooper pulled over a Jacksonville police officer...Trooper placed him under arrest for refusing to take a breathalyzer and for refusing to do a field sobriety test because of a suspected DUI..you know what the outcome was? since the Jacksonville PO was part of the good ol boy group ALL charges were DROPPED and the arresting officer (State Trooper) ended up getting FIRED!! ain't that nice? "training" or "retraining" is almost never an effective way to solve a behavioral problem like this. This has been proven time and time again in business (like millions of times). Does not address root cause. Need to eliminate ROOT cause and most likely the ROOT goes WAY DEEPER than this individual cop and the others there too. Window dressing like 're-train' actually adds fuel to the true problem, usually. Just sayin.

Also, rule # 1: never inform the cops about your intentions as they can use that against you if and when you decide to take them to court. Rule # 2: do your homework before you start auditing and know exactly what the law allows and what it doesn't instead of saying " I will talk to my lawyer." I understand the frustration. The people are represented, though not in any specific lawsuit. The police are employed by the city/county/etc. Either this is headed by an elected official, for example a Sheriff, or person who is directly controlled by a elected official, for example a police chief and a Mayor. The taxpayers have the opportunity to contact their representative and tell them what they want done. If they don't do what we want, we can vote in a new person. The problem is most people don't contact their representative because they don't know about a problem, they don't care about the problem, or they think nothing will be done about it. The first can be helped with people like News Now California putting the word out. The second is a decision of the taxpayer, and the third is an educational problem and perpetuates the cycle. The money comes out of lawsuits that is generally from insurance that is paid for by the police department or the government generally. We save money by buying it as a department because otherwise we would have to compensate individual officers (good and bad) more to make up for the difference. Buying one policy for 200 is usually better than buying 200 individual policies.
