On our way home from a 3 days camping with SPJC in Alabama Hills, My son and I decided to hit Kern River for another day before heading home. Im so glad we did. We ended up staying in Calkins Flat Dispersed Campground. Free of charge. We set up our tent by the River and let the wonders of nature take care of the rest. Its just so beautiful. See it for yourself, so grab a bear, relax and enjoy the show. Todays Menu,Off-Road Chefs Signature Rotisserie Pork, Celery Pork & Toasted Pandesal.

Oh no. Dispersed camping is first come per serve. So yeah, this site is walk in 😁

That's a nice spot, did you need the 4x4 to get in there? Also it looks like this was still early spring so cold to go swimming?

Thanks. You do not need 4x4 to get here. Water is cold but still good for swimming. I normally swim as you can see in some of my videos colder than the water here. As long as no snow, its warm for me lol. Good luck 🍀

That looks like a great place. Great food ! I camp on the the Kern as much as I can. I want to go with you. Good job cleaning up. People don’t clean up and that ruins it for others. No kidding where is that spot. My regular spot is closed .
