genuinely insane how this song perfectly captures the feeling of coming out of a theater at night, esp if you'd entered while the sun was still up. the cold, the simultaneously energized and sleepy vibe. The disjointed feel of being in ur car or at home again after getting so invested in a screen for some 2 hours. I'm probably just projecting but still.
I actually prefer this style to the stuff I'd heard from their earlier music - not that there's anything wrong with some upbeat pop, but this more garage and jazz influenced sound is right up my street.
The first time I ever heard KKB was when I worked at the cinema - they had their song "Break" on the prerolls before each movie. When I was cleaning theatres I'd hear the song and take the moment to enjoy the moment and just not do anything for a few minutes. Funny how things come full circle like that. This song sounds like a memory. Beautiful and ethereal
personally not a fan. I love Sarah's voice and I think the first mixtape and Bonito Generation really complimented it, and now it's more alternative, which doesn't really go with her voice, in my opinion.
Ethan Degenhardt Me too. I like the new stuff, but I'd be more happy if they did this style together with the old style. Well actually they could go back since it hasn't been that long, only time will tell I guess.
Marvellous Goat Boy well actually they just released a single from their new record and it seems kind of like both this style and their original cutesy kind of vibe. I liked it a lot
it hits different when its on a friday night, you play this song while driving around with your friends and everyone is quiet, and its 1 am and the roads are empty.. honestly it hits so differently
i love this more than i can express. perfectly captures a feeling of loneliness and melancholy. it has this nocturnal atmosphere that's just beautiful!
There’s no one around But the two old-timers who visit when they’re in town The credits are rolling as they walk out I get to my screen With the phantom audience sat there waiting for me But they don’t complain where I take a seat It seems Even now, I still stop by Most stories look better wide And I feel at peace here, ’cause While the adverts might’ve changed The popcorn tastes the same And in the end the day’s always saved So once the picture stops I let the hours pass, distracted in the dark Even now, I still stop by Most stories look better wide And I feel at peace here, until The lights come up bright When it’s over I step outside and I think I might get Some dinner somewhere nice Tonight

this song makes me so thoughtful for some reason...i've always adored cinemas and stories and i just love everything she describes about it. it sounds the same way that my thoughts did when I was little, and I loved to go to the movies. in the end, the day is always saved. It's just so.. easy. the way so many things aren't. i love stories...they do look better wide.
I heard this in H&M a few weeks ago and I've been searching for it ever since. I knew it was kkb because i recognised her voice, but I hadn't found the song until now ❤️
REEEEEEEEEEEEE FUCKING PERSONAFRIEND NORMIESNOT EVERY SONG SOUNDS LIKE A PERSONA SOUNDTRACK YOU FUCKERS ARE JUST TOO UNINTERESTING TO MAKE A GENUINLY VALID COMMENT
This is such a special and amazing song. I think I listened to this on loop for like an hour when I first heard. I love Kero Kero Bonito and have done since Flamingo. They are so unique and offer something so different
still here in 2023! its crazy that i started listening to them in fourth grade. im in eighth grade now and going to highschool next year, and they'll still be my favorite band
As with the other tracks, a nice surprising change of sound here, proper instruments and everything , but I get the feeling the song is half finished as it fades out too early!!!
I'd go to Walmart, hear this play sometimes. Never knew WHAT it was. Finally got smart, hit record on my phone, then set it atop a high rack until it finished. Went home, used an online converter to make it an mp3, then another free online thing to identify the song. Yay! It's just over way too quick.
I associate this song with the time I'd ride my bike at night in the summer, and I'd hang out with this girl I was falling in love with. So listening to this gives me bittersweet, just like how those times were
dang this is some good stuff. I recently have listened to all the Kero Kero Bonito songs and I gotta say you can kinda see where their songs begin to transition and get a bit more... I don't want to say structured because that might seem like a bad thing. But like they've captured each section of their songs and woven them intricately into one another to feel like one cohesive piece every time. Like a functional story in every song, not just with lyrics but with the music too. Long story short I really like what they've done and how they're perfecting their art.
