I just fired up my KeroWorld K-12 mini. I had no problems adjusting the flame height, my heater had enough play in backing off the flame. This little heater seems like it is going to be an awsome little heater. I'm glad I ran across your video a couple of weeks ago, because if I didn't I would have never know about this little heater. Thank you for posting the video !!!.
No odor at all, cleanest burning heater I have ever had. I have been using kerosene heaters for 30 years. The flame is exactly 1/2 inch above the flame spreader. I believe it has alot to do with the outside temp as to how long a tank will last. All in all it's definetly a great little heater.
Nice video. I just bought a used one for $25, in dire need of a new wick, otherwise in excellent shape. Mine is a DynaHeat DH1050, but it's the exact same heater. I hoping to get it fired up this weekend, and I'm happy to see you're pleased with yours.
great review, BTW i have been using kero heaters for 30 years and i have never seen one without the same wick adjustment procedure. seems just the nature of the beast. thanks again
I have this heater and it works great! It does not smell while burning but it sure stinks when you turn it off as the wick needs to burn out (about 5 minutes) so best to turn it off outside. Easy to put together and clean. Good investment to have if your power goes out a lot in the winter and you need emergency heat or good to use in a cold garage. A full tank will last about 7/8 hours not 12 hours as the manual says and that is on medium heat as recommended. Too low and you get soot and too high takes up too much oxygen. Highly recommend this heater for it's price and effectiveness.
Dont know why these heaters arent more popular. In my town electricity is relatively expensive and they sell kero at the gas station. Love mine, got a big one and like you said they suck down about 2 gallons every 12 hours. so got a square shaped radiant one with the steel that heats up to radiate. Ive sold a dozen of em just by showing friends how they work. I bet that puts out alot more light than the big heater.
After using My KeroWorld KW-12 for 24 hours I found out a full tank doesn't last but 9 hours. Which is better than using 2 gallons for 8 hours of heat from my big convection heater. I'm well satisfied with the heater. My next purchase will be new wick (from Miles Stairs Wick Shop) and like plojka1 said a catalytic filter.
I just purchased one 2 days ago from Amazon. I also was using a 23,000 btu convection heater that needed a fuel truck parked in my back yard. I hope this little K-12 will do as claimed and get close to the 15 hours from 1.2 gallons.
I use this heater in my family tent...keeps it toasty warm, dry heat, to 25c have to keep windows open at freezing temperatures outside because it gets too hot. Never have to wakeup to refill...runs a good 12 hours easy on one tank. I don't know why people use the mr buddy heaters when they can use one of these...recently they shot up in price over 40% and now they cost way more. Quality made. I should also add, make sure your kerosene heater is working properly, that you have plenty of ventilation, and CO2 detector. Don't spill any kerosene you will breath in the fumes and get a massive headache. I don't shut it off or light it inside, I wait until its running and burning clean and then bring it inside.
@plojka1 I can now say I'm a pro at changing the wick on this model heater. I got a new Kero World wick (#28048) via Amazon, and I think I'll opt for a Miles Stair one next time to compare. The heater is working great! I have had to adjust the wick a couple times to get it to burn evenly. I'll have to try one of those catalyzers too.
How expensive was the unit Sir ?? Looks nice too. Does Miles offer the catalytic converter for Duraheat model 2304 heater Sir ??? Thank you for your time and help Sir too.
I have a heater exactly like this. I thought it is called World Heater. I had trouble with the wick release mechanism and disabled it entirely. I like this heater a lot. Its still a little big for my purposes; in about an hour it will heat the place up more than I need and I have to take it outside to turn it off. I don't think I noticed that much smell coming off, but I bought one of those catalytic things also and don't smell anything. My sinuses just don't like any kind of combustion fumes. I put it in the bathroom and turn on the vent fan when I light it. I don't get any CO readings at all on my CO meter either.
it goes by another name which is known as Dyna-Glo wk11c8 wich i bought online from northern tools at a sale price of 99$. i did alot of research on k heaters. it is 10,500 btu vs the majority of 23k btu that gets a room way to warm, and by use alot of K. 1 gallon k1 last around 10 hrs>+. and the fact that i can see the flame constantly, give me a peace of mind. has a lot of parts in the construction and how they are put together tells me that alot of thought went into this product. it is precise..and im ordering another one. i get my k1 fuel from local gas stations at less then half the price then the stoses offer. it is the same!. im not confused any more on that.. hope this helps anyone .
Thanks for info. Good review. That knob issue is a deal breaker for me only because I bought a red stone and the knob quit workin after just a few weeks. I think I stripped it when I couldn’t get the wick to extinguish.
I had that same catalitic converter on my Aladdin blue flame heater, it created a fog like Haze and to this day it still make the heater smell like burnt metal
plojka1.... I have a heat mate -110 radiant heater and I am contemplating buying the KW-12. It seems the 110 even though a radiant throws a bit of convective heat. I know you have both of these heaters and have used them both. I want to know if the convective action of the KW-12 is superior to the hmn-110? if so just a little, or allot? I have thought of buying another hmn-110 because of the convenience of the one direction heat.... but if this KW-12 is far better convective wise, I will deal with the omni direction heat, and keep it in the center of the room. thanks for the reviews...
Wife and I was just talking about that man not having a left hand. I have one of these stoves and we love it! One gallon heats most of our downstairs with outdoor temps no lower than about 30°. That is pretty good considering we have a upstairs, so some of the heat escapes up the steps and warms the bedrooms. A good thing I guess. The kerosene odor is very minimal without a cat converter.
@@groundhog7652, no left hand, lol. GOOD kerosene heaters are very valuable as back up or when utilized well. I'm done with any yellow flame heater and will now use only the heaters with the glass stack and the secondary blue flame burn at top. I have 4 and my favorites are the hot Aladdin Equator ll that has an amazing burn visual as does the Kerosun Radiant 10 . keep warm there folks
