I completely understood where Ma'am AJi Yam Secka is coming from and should be highly respected for her conviction..She is coming from a place of loyalty from a long line Journey of struggles and sacrifices they all made for our Gambia by putting their lives on the line for Gambia and all Gambians. This is an honorary statements she is duely declaring out of hardships they all have endured and have not been given that honored of respect they deserved irrespective of some mistakes made in the past, but their sacrifices for our Gambia cannot be downplayed and dismissed due to the fact that their dedication for serving our Nation overshadowed some of the miscalculation and oversight that impeded the success of their agenda and manifestos.But there is no loser here when you gained sone learning experience to do better and that is a WINNER in the making in my book..As citizens of Gambia, we should all hailed them at a high regard in honor of their work, sacrifices and Patriotic civil commitment and devotion for our Nation..I for one extent due respect for their work and have nothing but love for our Grandmothers and mothers who are the backbones and always on the forefront fighting for what is right for the sons and daughters of our Nation ,Gambia 🇬🇲 our Homeland MA'AM AJI YAM SECKA ..All Gambians salutes you for all your contributions..May you all be rewarded here in this Dunya, the land of the living and the afterlife. Gambia is high time we vote out Barrow and his administration out of office 2026. Gambia we don't need young leadership anymore what the young leadership did to our nation is okay. Mr. Darboe served in key posts in the Barrow administration, for 3 years, and was literally the one calling the big shots… what did he do for the youth besides threatening to sack the young teachers who protested for a better pay? What you should’ve said is, the country needs system change. A change that can’t be brought by either UDP or NPP. The country needs to do away with both parties because they’re nothing but two sides of the same coin who’re power hungry and hellbent on derailing the progress of this country that is with every potential to become great with the right system and leadership! If it’s about bringing in someone older, we should go and convince Halifa to reconsider his decision, or at least bring Sedia Jatta. What the country needs is system change, not father & son switch.

With all due respect, Aji Yam is being dishonest about the 3 years Barrow term. She seems to want to eat her cake and have it too. Fact is, Darboe and the UDP destroyed 3 years. They can all bend themselves into millipedes to deny it, but the fact will not change. Darboe destroyed 3 years for whatever agenda they had, emboldened Barrow in the process and now we all suffer the consequences of a grossly incompetent leader.
One of the most honest, apt and factual comments I’ve ever read as far as Gambian politics is concerned. As you’ve rightly said, they can choose to turn a blind eye to the reality, but it won’t change the fact that is Ousainou Darboe who hijacked “New Gambia”, and plunged it into a dungeon that it’s still trying to escape from. He came out of prison, downplayed the significant role the coalition played in ousting Jammeh by making pronouncements like “UDP alone would’ve defeated Jammeh”, squashed the 3 year agreement, and claimed ownership of Barrow thereby creating a monster (political animal). In my books, a virus can never be an antidote or cure to the disease it brought about. Gambia needs to do away with NPP & UDP if the country is to ever prosper. These are two bitter camps, who’re hungry for power, and will do anything to have it, not because of national interest, but to massage their own selfish, greedy and bitter egos.

I’m young and you might be too but there are things that happen in our lives just recently, just because we can’t mention the date or time doesn’t mean that we have lost our memories. This woman has been through a lot and no one should expect her to remember everything exactly as it happened.
