@@rikkihill better than post 2000s Jeff anyway, when he didn't give a fuck anymore and just shredded away whatever came to his mind. In the old days Jeff was great. Holt only played like one solo over every Slayer song, like he didn't give a fuck. Didn't fit at all. Pat O'Brien was good though, I would have been happier, if he would have filled in for Jeff permanently. But Phil is great!
Reggie's Is the shit! Played there myself and their sound is fantastic. I was backline drum tech for Legions of Metal the weekend before this show. We had to pack up at record speed because they needed to pull the riser out so these guys could set up and rehearse for a bit and get their equipment dialed in. I was hoping we could stick around, but they were frowning on the idea. LOL!
It's great to see Kerry back in a small club. That's what Metal is all about. He's been so used to arenas for decades. I bet he's loving the smaller venues. 🤘
Because people are a**holes and they don’t like people to move forward. And of course this sounds somewhat like Slayer…he was in the band for a million years. Was he supposed to put out slower more melodic music? It doesn’t matter…. The haters will always hate no matter what! I love the new band!
@@swatkins007 Yeah man, I don't get it. They did something like that with KK's Priest. I mean if you claim to like Slayer, I would think you would be ecstatic. As for changing the sound, I don't prefer that. Mick Mars tried that.
Rest of band are lucky sods not only are they knocking out some great new stuff there getting to playing some killer slayer tunes each night too. lol. Can’t wait to see them
@@darrenbell1627 Dude, seriously. It is 2024. A little too late for anyone in this genre to offer up something different and that most fans want to hear.
Let's face it, they are not in their 20's anymore. What happened to common sense. Who knows how many injuries he has. If you play music (especially this kind) you'll get there too. ✌
@@hanginon1293 they're not in their 20's,kind of obvious.tommy aldridge is over 70 and still plays like there's no tomorrow.i don't pay to see some of my favorite musicians fall slowly to pieces.is just like with lars ulrich, laziness¡¡
@@carlosalbertogomez1391 Tommy Aldridge is my favorite rock drummer of all time and you'll never see many like him. Just cause he's able to do it doesn't mean it's normal. He's a phenomenon
They DO you sound pretty good but I can barely hear the vocals. Need to turn that mic up. I KNOW that Mark Osegueda or whatver his name is) has strong pipes, part of the reason he was hired....
I think it was just the nature of this small club. I was right in front of Phil and mostly could hear his guitar, could not hear Kerrys barely at all but I had friends in front of Kerry and they were opposite. Probably towards the back it was a better mix.
Its not bad for a cover not close to SLAYER yes it has carry but come on nothing like king tom sceams and king Dave drums and king jeff guitar carry it 3 out of 10
11 songs from the set are from the solo album. Kerry has also stated he will only be playing Slayer songs he wrote, or co-wrote. So not a Slayer cover band
For some reason my brain cannot accept this. It accepts the Pantera tribute but not this. I'm kinda hating myself for it cz this is the next best thing to Slayer. But it's almost too much like Slayer. Feels like a knockoff/cover band. It's been a great run for metal over the past couple years. Hope the trajectory stays on this path, but I really wish King had gone a bit more original tbh. Just speaking my truth. Don't hate me, lol.
Well the show was 11 original King songs and then 6 Slayer "covers" all songs King has writing credits on. No doubt Kings original music will sound like Slayer since King wrote roughly half of Slayers original songs...he is going to write in his style.
