In this unsponsored video, I’ll show you my everyday skincare routine for #dryagingskin.
As a professional makeup artist for over forty years in New York, I’ve seen and worked on a lot of skin! A good #skincareroutine makes a huge difference to the skin’s health and appearance. I’m 62 years old, (at the making of this video - now I am 65) and I am always trying to slow down the effects of aging on my skin. I love the fact that the better condition of your skin, the less face makeup you need to wear. I haven’t used botox or fillers (yet:-) But I do like to explore non-invasive skincare products and gadgets.

Kerry-Lou hi, when I say psychological I mean it in a light hearted way. Meaning I’m finding that I need to make lifestyle changes to suit my age and body, my mind on the other hand still thinks I’m 20 something. 🤣 I am making the change to stop dying my hair and allowing my salt and pepper grey to come forth. Quite an adjustment. It is also a wonderful journey 🙏🏻🙂 Thank you for taking the time to respond to my comments. Been watching you for about 4 months and you have inspired me. I stopped coloring my hair about 10 years ago but have always worn it long . I cut it short about 2 weeks ago I must admit I struggle with it. I just thought why not now when everyone is in isolation to get use to something new.Thank You and if I decided short hair is not me it will always grow back.

Vegan - check! Lots of water - check! No soda, no smoking - check! No fillers, surgeries or injections for me, either. I use Tatcha and Peter Thomas Roth products almost exclusively, so I know how you feel about being faithful to a brand that works. And yes, please - catch us up on your growing-out hair journey. Hi Kerry-Lou what a helpful video thank you! Like you I have a set of tried and tested products to help with my mature and yet rosacea and blemish prone skin... if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! One tip I learned was if I bought some expensive face cream that did not agree with my sensitive skin I use it on my neck and décolletage rather than waste it! Looking forward to the next one! 💕💕💕

Thanks for the data and knowledge - I am a huge follower of “clean beauty mentality” and even though I am older than you, I as well have not done any fillers at all to date. Who know when I hit 70 maybe, I will change my mind. I use a lit of Josie Marjan products, very clean and especially gentle and hydrating to this very dry face at my age. Take care, DJ

As always, a great video. Thank you Kerry Lou. I have to admit that I love doing my skincare routine in the morning and especially in the evenings. I find it very calming and its something i look forward to for starting the day and easing myself into sleep in the evening. I have gone from about a ten step routine in the evening using The Ordinary serums of different types, to a more pared back routine. I also do a skin fast for one week every two months. This means nothing but moisturizer and eye cream morning and night during that time. No actives whatsoever. It gives the skin a break and I have found it to be really beneficial. Ive been using L'Oreal moisturizer and eyecream for years now but I am on the lookout for something new that is cruelty free. Will have to check out Dermalogica. Stay safe and take care Kerry Lou xx

Kerry-Lou i am using a lot of the simple range of products they do not contain colourings or perfumes also Nivea range for mature skin and i find they seem to agree with my skin.

I watched your Curology video in addition to this one. Have you stoped using it and if so why? Thanks in advance. I just stared using that.

I think Curology is a great product at a great price. I like to test products that are good for different budgets. Even while using it I was still using some of these Dermalogica products, for instance the day time moisturizer with SPF 50. I use Curology cleanser when I prefer just a basic wash, like when I have been working out. Also, if I am going to the gym, I will wear Curology moisturizer if I am going to go home an hour later and wash my face, because I don't want to keep using my more expensive one only to wash it off. The "Special prescribed formula" was fine if I used it twice a week, but this new Noomi retinol product I can use every day without drying out my skin. I always like to try new products, but definitely have my tried and true. So, still using Curology, but do not get the once a month any more, I found they accumulated in my drawer!

The link you have for the neck cream brings up an eye cream. I guess I will try to look it up anyhow. Your neck looks great. I'm just a few years younger than you, and my neck took a beating. I spent all my $ on face creams and now I'm paying for it. My face looks 10 years younger than my neck, lol

Little Cassia is keeping me busy, lots of babysitting while momma does online teaching ;-D thanks for your nice comment, what you said about being your best self is very important; there are no skin care miracles out there, although there are some great skincare products and devices that help knock a couple of years off or at least slow down the aging process. of course we must keep moving and keep the blood flowing strong for optimum health, (and beauty). Kerry-Lou ...I am 73, never had over 6 “zits” , or so in my life . Last year I developed rosecea, on my face and neck . The colorless rosecea caused deep wrinkles on it’s path of destruction. Skin is very fair , sprinkle of small light colored freckles . Native of Florida ( the dermatologist says the origin of all this sun damage to arms and legs ) Nothing curable. Can’t cover my face, just want to do the best I can to keep it decent looking . Thank you for your sweet reply ! My great granddaughter will be one on 9/29/20 ! We are having a family party tomorrow, at a park with covered picnic tables .

I too initially thought you had cut your hair. We need to see it down;,it has grown a lot. Do use Dermalogica acids for exfoliation ever? I have heard they are good. I need to go to their site and complete the evaluation of my skin. Your skinis beautiful and your neck is smooth. Maybe you can do a spa day video; overal body, hair, and akin pampering. We need this, since there are so many services we still can't access. It will also help us do them for ouselves and save a little money. Hope family, mama and new baby, especially are safe and well.

Kerry Lou, I did as you suggested and went to the Dermalogica site and did the online skin analysis. My question is so so Frye ones the results suggested are not listed in your links on this video. If I order them without a your link, how will you be compensated?

Hi Elaine, I still like Curology, but I find the Noomi (At night) somewhat gentler for me. I like to test other products, and sometimes I will try something new and switch. Curology offers a Retinoid at a very reasonable price, and it's a whole very simple system.
