In this video I show how I use my Stacked Skincare Dermaplane tool,
which is designed for home use.
Dermaplaning is a procedure that removes dead skin cells and peach fuzz from the surface of the skin, exposing fresh new skin! Cell turnover slows down in #matureskin - #dermaplaning helps stimulate skin cell growth, collagen and elastin, it also helps your skincare products absorb into the skin easier.

I just tried dermablading for the first time. Had a lot of peach fuzz and a few whiskers that I used to pluck or shave a little. The difference is amazing! I hope it stays nice. Right now it’s smooth as a baby’s butt. Thanks. Love your videos. 😀

@@kerrylou3 A woman's manual shaver probably doesn't work as well as a professional dermaplanner. I know a woman who uses a mans battery operated shaver daily. It doesn't bother her Rosacea, but it has made her skin look great from depressed acne scars. Acne scars are a major concern to people who have them. She started with a mens shaver for hair removal, initially, but it did a great job removing the scarring!

Hi, thanks for the video. I am a very fair redhead. When I do this type of treatment, I get little pimples the next day. I guess its the hair poking thru my skin. I love the way my skin feels after derma planing but hate the pimples. Any suggestions? Thank you

Thank you and Sorry for the delay in answering you. I do use a regular razor for when my face is feeling particularly hairy 😁 The derma planing that I do in this video removes more surface skin than a hair removing razor. 🌸

Hi Tabitha, They are different. I do microneedle, and really like it. Micronedling is done with a little spikey roller thingy - I will do a video on that also, thanks for your interest!

Very interesting. I hadn’t heard of this technique - your skin looks fantastic Kerry-Lou! I do micro-needling and that really helps absorption as well - but I’ll have to give this a try. It’s January 8, 2020 and I just tried the dermal planing tonight and I absolutely loved it and 67 years old and I’m already feeling addicted to it I can’t wait to do it again however I did not know they just said to put a heavy moisturizing cream on I first put physicians formula 24 karat gold collagen serum on and after that I did put my rent now on so the next time I think I’ll just put my ceremony and do the retinol in the morning thank you for your tips and also I was wondering how often should you exfoliate your skin then when your derma blading

Hi Janice, yes it is kind of addictive LOL but don't over-do exfoliation or you could dry out your skin. Once a week is good for dermaplaning. Dermaplaning is supposed to be done on dry skin, I find it's best to not use any moisturizer. After dermaplaning you can use your serums and moisturizers because then they penetrate deeply.

I asked you about shaving and unfortunately I have to shave my chin area. I don't mind doing it. I have a variety of dark and white hairs. The rest of my face is good so I guess I'm lucky . Ageing has made it more difficult to pluck hairs, any other tips or tricks? Thanks again. I love your videos. I too and in my early 60s. I loved the. I haven't tried this method yet - I've been using the Finishing Touch Flawless Shaver, but I find it doesn't get very close, and I've had several ingrown hairs (ouch!) after using it. Think this looks good, although I have to admit I'm a little nervous.

I"ve been trying something similar recently, instead of the dermaplaning tool I use an electronic toothbrush on my face once a week.My skin feels really smooth afterwards although I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing since the toothbrush gets a little too intense sometimes and may harm my skin in the long run.What do you think about that?

I think what you are doing is probably how the "spinning brush" devices got invented lol! I have one I use called the Duvolle Spincare Brush. It's not expensive, and has lasted me forever. I don't use it everyday, since I use different sorts of exfoliating methods, but I think it's more gentle than the toothbrush. That's quite inventive of you though!

This at home method of derma planing, isn’t the same as what you would experience in a dermatologist office which would be deeper, however one should go by how the skin feels. If you could actually feel dead skin cells on the surface, (kind of rough and dry) then it probably needs exfoliating or at home derma planing as I show in this video.

I like to coat my face with Barbarsol shave cream. It's ingredients are benign. Caution... The first time I dermaplaned, I lost half my eyebrow during a daydream. Thanks for the tutorial.

Haha! definitely mustn't daydream while dermaplaning! When you use shaving foam you shave the hair, but not as much of the dead skin.

It is pricey, and I've tried several cheaper ones from Amazon before showing this one. I see it as part of an at home facial, this is one thing I wouldn't like to be without. it takes the place of hair exfoliation also. The initial cost is pricey, but then you just need the blades, (still not cheap, but worth it to me).

I think shaving is probably safer, although I've never had any mishaps with dermaplaning. I love how traditional shaving feels on my skin, doesn't get as much dead skin as dermaplaning. You shouldn't dermaplane if you feel nervous about it though.

Sorry didn’t finish... your video when you showed us your shaving, I’m skeptical. I recently bought the Flawless tool, then when the stubbles grow in which can be just a few days, I’m fanatical go tweeze. It’s been a viscous cycle

I would probably shave with a regular good quality guys razor. I tested the Flawless tool, and found it rough on my skin. So use a gentle foam, like Aveno first, then shave. The stacked tool is really for dermaplaning and will also remove peach fuss. Years ago I went for Laser hair removal, which did thin out my facial hair, but didn't get rid of completely, (you can usually get a Groupon deal). Just know that shaving doesn't make more hair, but it is a bit spikier when it re-grows. Good luck ;-)

Any surgical blade on Amazon will do the same thing. It’s all about sliding a blade at an angle, very much like shaving, however when the skin is dry, it scrapes up the dead skin very well. Save your 💰.

I personally do not dermaplane my neck. I go under my chin a bit to get the hairs, but it is a delicate area.

What’s the difference between exfoliation with aha or bha and dermaplanation?

aha and aha are good for exfoliation if you feel nervous using the blade. Dermaplaning is good for people who are sensitive to skin care products. I like to use a combination, that's why you don't see a LOT of dead skin coming of in this video.

The difference is that people in commercials get paid, I'm just talking about something I like and that works for me. I try do the best tutorial I can so that people can learn about what dermaplaning is so they can make up their own mind if it may be right for them before buying it themselves.
