Another better late than never KRV! I first introduce you to the short form and long form concept for video production...this is a long form. Then we get into this 4 for 1 knife review where I will cover the really excellent high value Kershaw Emerson CQC collaborations. These are wicked fast deploying thin tactical blades following
the lines of Earnie Emersons CQC line (for the most part, minor grind differences).
My 2005 Emerson re-ground CQC-8 reminds us how awesome the original knives are. But they're a bit expensive for some TNPRs. Enter these Kershaws. They'll provide the same cutting performance and even levels of 2nd Cool for a low price. Even the D2 CQC11K at time of posting was only $52!
These models seem to be on the outs so get them while you can. Blade HQ says they won't be getting anymore. Please use my BHQ links below when you buy and remember BHQ is Pro 2A. Highly recommended EDC/Tactical folding knives!

I love the long form videos too. Bought a CQC 5k back in 2016. The CQC took getting used to at first, but after a while the opening method grew on me. It is a great knife and reviews like this certainly help when picking out good gear that you will keep around for a long time. Thank you for your work.

Love them long-form KRVs. Have loved them since I first sub'd in 2008 or 2009. What I've been missing for the longest time are the multi-part backpacking and knife clinic videos, but I guess they didn't get enough views to justify the effort. Thank you for all the awesome work you've done over the years.

I’ve carried cqc-11k in D2 for almost a year now. Freaken love it try to rotate out and it keeps finding its way into my pocket. Been saving up for the real Emerson version of it almost there. Edit: ordered the real deal last Friday 3/12 and the cqc-11k is actually based of the Emerson rendezvous incase anybody is wondering

When these Emerson Kershaw knives came out a few years ago I jumped on them so fast. I first picked up the CQC 5K because I just loved the look of the dagger shaped blade,got it and loved it. It was a bit firm (but not sluggish. Then ordered the 8K and the 6K D2 4K & 4KXL D2,and they are great affordable knives. Need to pick up the 11K D2 before they disappear

I have all the Kershaw versions. Have used them all. My go to edc knife is the CQC4Kxl in D2. It is the only one that fits my xxl hands perfectly and holds an edge very well. I farm for a living so my knives are well used.

If it is side to side play, you can fix that with propper washers. Replace the nylon crap, put in 2 or 3 very thin (0.1 mm) washers in on each side. Oil up & tighten good. Very smooth and snug.

Ive been carrying my cqc 5k for about 6 months and love it. Used hard daily at work and still has a nice sharp edge! First true carry knife and it sure beats the old husky folding box cutter. The best part is its "boba fett" patina Also its only 32.55 on Amazon

I sent back the 9K and the 10K, but I have the 11K in D2 is on the way. I've been carrying the 4KXL for a few weeks and I'm really into it. Not a super wide blade but still 4 inches long with a nice point on it. Great action and I love the wave feature, though sometimes it does deploy when I don't want it to. I'm sure that's just the learning curve with the wave feature.

I've got the kershaw 6, 10, 11, and 1. I wanted at one point to collect them all but I've avoided the temptation... I seriously love the 1, it's like a wicked mini-bowie, a nice minimalist Emersonized carry.

Knife collecting is cool, though 'nerds' do it, too. Been at it since the age of 9. That collection was stolen in my mid 20s. Took sometime off, but have been at it again for a few decades. Lots of my more recent purchases, last 7 years or so, have been on account of you. So, always still enjoy reviews and looking for the next possible member of my knife clan. Hey guys, what are some of your favorite, out of pocket, wavable knives? Obviously these Kershaw Emersons, Knives like the Cold steel Spartan and ECT are great, but I'm looking for more wavable ones to buy?! Any help would be great, I really like the zip tie idea too , I have to do that to all of mine, I also really don't want to carry any knives I can't wave anymore! So spoiled lol. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey Nutn.. Have you got any of the Adimanti (Skimen Design) knives from Ganzo? Also some cool affordable little knives,that one don't have to worry about banging up (not counting the Titanium versions of course).

I own a CQC-6K but wish it was about 1/2" longer in both blade and handle. I'd also prefer a scale on each side. I'll have to check out the D2 models. Has anyone here removed the thumb disk for their EDC model?

My daily is still a 2012 Kershaw blade. Tip down, deep pocket, super thin, thumb studs, 3.5in. Kershaw One Ton 1447.

I have the smaller tanto version, love it, very tough, it's done a lot, prying, cutting , general all purpose beatings. For the price can't go wrong. Yes very easy to sharpen but you have to freshen up the edge often. Do it. Ontario Marine Raider Bowie for budget , quality, tough hunk of steel ready to meet any task fixed blade.

@@francismartino6890 I find it quite nice , I'm not a huge fan of the wave feature but from manual operation with thumb studs it sure flies open! And I love the blade shape , definitely a good EDC knife

Had one when they first came out and ended up selling it. Felt like a brick in the pocket, I didn't like the slippery steel side, and the pocket clip on mine was super flimsy. They do look cool though

They sold these at Walmart a couple years ago. I had a coworker who would not buy anything from China(pretty hard to do in Walmart) but he geeked out so hard over these, and they were so affordable, that he bought one. The wave deployment is pretty cool, but I don't like cheap frame-lock knives. I had a Gerber that broke right at the thin part of the frame-lock, just from me pushing it to unlock the blade. From that point I never trusted that design. Prefer liner locks.

I love some of these....but that pocket clip placement is brutal. I don’t need an inch of the handle sticking out of my pocket to extract/deploy the knife.

I bought a 4KXL a few years ago without knowing much about it. It's one of my nicer knives. Now that they went crazy with regulations here in BC Canada, we can't get any decent knives anymore.
