Never thought my linguistics degree would come in handy on this channel, but here we go: The kind of "clucking" you're referring to is technically referred to as a palatoalveolar click. You've actually touched on a very real linguistics debate here, because we're not really sure if our mouth evolved to make specific speech sounds or if we make specific speech sounds just because our mouths happened to be shaped like that (the "biproduct" idea Beezy touched on). The most generally agreed-on opinion is somewhere in the middle: before we could make modern speech sounds, our mouths could kinda make those sounds but not very well, so our vocal tract evolved to be able to make more distinct, intelligible noises. This mostly involves our throat anatomy, lengthening the space in the throat in which sound can resonate (an unfortunate side effect of this is that humans are now one of the few creatures that can't breathe and swallow at the same time, which is pretty compelling evidence that the ability to make speech sounds is a pretty big advantage to offset that). However, we also have very dexterous tongues compared to other animals, specifically in order to make complex speech sounds. I personally doubt other animals would be able to "cluck" the same way we do, because it involves making a little area of negative pressure in the mouth via the tongue creating an airtight seal, which is pretty hard to do. Clucking is also a recognized phoneme (aka it's a sound in the language) of a number of languages, which is notably not the case with every single sound you can possibly make with your mouth. This also points towards there being an evolutionary reason for clucking. TLDR: Eat up, Beezy Also: Great tune up, really enjoyed watching it while I packed for a trip. Not sure how powerful this deck will be tho since it can't run Storm Crow.

Honor Worn Shaku is a big miss for this deck. It may be an artifact and non-legendary, but it turns every Planeswalker and Legendary creature into a mana rock. Also, cards like Untaidaike can be tapped for a colorless without it being for legendary spells or paying life for it using the Shaku. A lot of good synergy there

I have to disagree on command beacon: if your commander died only once, it's a land that says "sacrifice to add 2 mana" for zero, if your commander died just twice (something that happens often, especially when it's a big target like Kethis) it's a land that says "sacrifice to add 4 mana" so it's stronger than a black lotus, and it only gets better. And if your commander never died, it comes down untapped. Command beacon is amazing IMO

Kethis, Killian, Carth, and Ghen are the best pocket commanders ever made, and you can pair Killian with either of Ghen or Kethis for truly spectacular degeneracy if you wish. I certainly do.

@@simontorell1549 The smile confuses me, but I'll go for it. A pocket commander/secret commander is someone in the 99 who is the actual pivot for the deck. Examples within might be Carrth in a Korvold Planewalker deck that allows for Chandras, or Killian in a Ghen deck that takes advantage of brutal targeted enchantment recursion. Ghen himself or Kethis in a 5-color enchantment or legendary deck respectively. There is risk of course of exile, you should really build in protection, but it often can be worth the risk.

@@rule-of-three1483 right. I have only heard of the concept as "hidden commander", but of course it has other names. I am a dum-dum for not thinking of ghen as an auras-build, but still don't see the synergy between kethis and killian: there are only like 3 legendary spells that target creatures, right? I genuinely am interested, since I am thinking about these cards for commander cube

Kethis was my first commander I ever built (was close for Karador to be it but the legendary deck seems more flashy and my style) and it’s more creature based. So it’s cool to see the opposite build. Also for the mana rocks the patreon included, there’s not many legendary dorks. There’s Selvala and that’s it. So for the Farseeks and three visits its a wee bit harder to ramp bc of all the dual and legendary lands with no sub forest type. I’m hoping when we go to Kamigawa we get a legendary basic land cycle to use those farseek effects

Squandered Resources is great for sacrificing all of your land on a whim. In fact my Tayam deck does that in a loop with Eternal Witness and Second Sunrise Also I've read that babies make noises, like clicking or crying, as a form of exercise

Hey ma dudes, i have recently started watching your videos and you really inspired me to go over my decks and really smoothen them out , so they run better. My fav. Commander is mayael (big mana/creatures) is there a way you could rate my deck because i would give it a solid powerlevel 7, but other people get frustrated playing against me because i usually win with it and they see it as a powerlevel 9. There isnt even an infinte combo in it. Keep up the good work, you have earned yourselves a new sub.

This is actually the last (and 4th) commander Deck I built :D As I almost only want to use cards I already drafted and want the power-lvl and budget to be more on the low side, I went for a differrent route. Far less Planeswalkers (around 10) and more token and proliferate synergies, for jumpblocking or alternative wincon. Nice video, keep it going!

Okay, I know it's not the point of the video, but I am SO high on 5-mana Kaya it almost isn't funny. I love all of her modes, and I especially love that you can kill her for her emblem and then use it to bring her back next turn. It's absolutely one of my new pet cards that's going to go in way too many decks lol

Surprised you cut Storrev and added Katilda? I get the mana cost reduction, but a free planeswalker seems better than anything Katilda does. Also, the legendary creatures are put into the deck for their abilities; tapping them as mana dorks deprives using their tap abilities for that turn.

I also want to shout out Riftstone Portal for any GW deck that plays in its graveyard. It's basically and Urborg/Yavimaya that only works when it is in grave. Throw it away for extra value or play it as a colorless mana producing land if you need it in the early game. Also great in Enchantress decks that tend to overdrawn, but that's not relevant here.

Szat makes two 0/1's "so good" Espeth Suns Champ three 1/1's "meh" I don't understand this. Shali makes the walkers in a walker deck hexproof, not good enough. Katilda makes a few creatures tap for mana in a walker deck, super good. I don't understand this one either.

first of all, how dare you! second of all, thanks for the upgrades and the build! the road to return and command beacon are there because Kethis gets removed on average 2/3 times per game in my play group lol. Also why Shalai is there. Malakir rebirth is an auto include in any 3 color black deck that needs the commander out. its basically a counterspell, or a land

Vorinclex and doubling season work differently with planeswalkers. Doubling season makes them enter with double the counters like joe said. Vorinclex doesn’t do that though, he just makes + loyalty abilities put double the counters on the walker. The difference is in “if you would put” vs “if an effect would put” Edit: this is wrong. Vorinclex does double entering counters as well

This is incorrect, vorniclex does cause your planeswalkers to enter with double the loyalty. The planeswalker getting counters is treated as an ETB, so it's a replacement effect. You can look this up, rule 306.5b.

@@benbarclay4239 my bad, you’re right that vorinclex also doubles the entering counters. Your reasoning is a bit weird though. It’s not an ETB, it’s an “enters with” which is why it’s treated that way. Where I was wrong was I thought the game itself put the loyalty counters on planeswalkers. Technically if there’s nothing putting the counters on, the object’s controller is the one who puts them on.
