Mark-- I really value these instructional videos very much. My left and right shoulders were completely replaced. I am 69 years old. This past January I decided to begin kettlebell training, knowing absolutely nothing about doing kettlebells. Since then everything I have learned is from your earlier videos and this new instructional series. This offering of your work is GREAT and I am grateful. Thank you.

@@MarkWildman if I was to snatch 60kg is it normal to have more of a hop with the snatch or something like that?

highly recommend Mark's Nerd Math Swing / C&P programs. You have to experience 20/20 Start / Stop H2H, Swing and then the C&P reverse ladders. It really is soul crushing, brutal but if you follow his instructions you will get through, without injury. Worth every penny.

Thank you so much for doing this…Really can’t understand how you are not, at least, at a million subs…That really needs to happen for this channel.

Feet straight ahead swings fixed my plantar fasciitis. Before that, a special foot strap thing I slept with, Hoka shoes, and a morning ritual of rolling my foot on a hard pointed plastic ball did not do much and left me frustrated for a long time. Started swinging with this cue when I found this channel and it fixed my issue unbelievably fast.

Regarding position of handle in hand from rack to down position- I saw another video giving the cue that you hold handle same as a single-arm swing when dropping down from rack (not placing in ground). Is this appropriate? I've been experimenting to not pinch the skin under my callous area, and also trying to get better bell control in the downswing portion. Maybe I also need to drop to 12kg for form drills..

These instructional videos are gold. Thank you so much. TRAINING QUESTION. Is it common for one or both feet to be sore from keeping the feet pointed straight?
@MarkWildman
@MarkWildman 2 года назад
It goes away as the muscles of the feet adapt, but yes, in the beginning it is common

It is awesome channel. Should i work in start/stop movements as skill drill or could i work as strength ladder strategy in gaining complexity ?
@MarkWildman
@MarkWildman 2 года назад
Eventually a strength ladder. These videos are designed to make people comfortable enough with to concepts to do a clean and press and swing program.

I’m aware this is off topic for the video, but I’m doing the exercise for overweight individuals and just finished 20 sets of 5 at 5 lbs with my adex club. Do I just run the program again at 6.25 lbs? How would I/should I incorporate Heavy/Light into this? Thanks, love the content. -Eric

Run it again at 6.25. Keep running it until at least 15 lbs.,, if you want to really set a foundation. Do it until a 25 lb club.

Am I supposed to feel an odd twisting/shifting feeling in my forearm when I swing it from the resting spot back down?
@MarkWildman
@MarkWildman Год назад
Your arm does rotate throughout the movement. If you feel discomfort it’s recommended you go down in weight. Most people’s tendons and ligaments may need a lighter weight to adapt to the loaded traction

@@jvm-tv thanks for the tip. I also noticed my delts get smoked in the rack position so I gotta be doing something wrong there too. It's easier to rest with the weight locked overhead than racked and that can't be right
@MarkWildman
@MarkWildman 2 года назад
Sounds like you may not be settling fully into rack. Aka…. Hold the weight higher than it should be

one of these days you should do a break down of all the different training ̶ p̶h̶i̶l̶o̶s̶o̶p̶h̶i̶e̶s̶ protocols. IE A+A (Alactic+Aerobic).
@AlteredState1123
@AlteredState1123 2 года назад
Completely agree! Pavel has been advocating for alactic conditioning for power athletes with what appears to be a 1:5 work to rest ratio. This can either 5 seconds of explosive work and 25 seconds of rest or 10 seconds of work and 50 seconds of rest. He claims that this will improve conditioning without compromising performance. He also has a protocol which I think has more rest between clusters of sets to prevent venturing into acidosis. Meanwhile, some sprint coaches use this method by never having their athletes initially go beyond 5 seconds in drills; however they demand and measure for maximum output. So, if you measure by intensity the brief workouts tax the CNS. I am an old guy, but am very interested in what works. I do a fair amount of steady state in zone 1 (walking) and zone 2 (running, cycling, skill drills for soccer), but it is fun the vary things up. Based on what I see from Mark’s stuff, his alactic work would be in his EMOM’s. The marathoning looks to be more of a hellish venture into zones four and five. Again, cool topic.
