If you sing head, shoulders, knees, and toes (knees and toes). It works. Doesn't line up, but it is rhythmic.

Just did 5 sets of 5 with 2 25lb KBs which isn't too challenging for me but still a good workout. I did bang my left thumb on the first DB clean and thought, : "he told you" LOL. I may have to get your adjustable set because jumping from my 25s to my 35s may be a step too far for me. Great exercise to complement my running progress and everything else, I am sure...THANKS Mr. Wildman

I like to program this is as pyramids with a rest in between (heavy, low reps), or supersetted with pullups (light, high reps)...

I've been beating myself about the head and shoulders with the 15lb club for 5 days now, and I finally got something resembling a full speed reverse mill. I'm so close to the regular mill that I can taste it. Btw regardless of the different qs people give, whenever I do a dubble clean, I almost launch the kettlebells over my shoulders. I also can't figure out how to not go frog my knees a little when they go down/back between my legs.

if training w/ an adjustable KB for strength - do you mean to increase every set or only on the next training day? If every set, how much time between sets?

Good workout. However, I feel it’s perhaps better to separate the squat and the press parts of this workout, since the weights won’t be heavy enough for the squat that also allow for the press. Perhaps a ladder workout which does heavier KB front squat followed immediately by clean and press which will be lighter, but still maximized weight. This way, the body is hit with the perfect about of resistance for each lift.
@pigglywiggly1969
@pigglywiggly1969 26 дней назад
I just do one full squat after the clean, then another squat before the press. That way I'm doing 2 squats for every clean and press.

Why does the ABC get such acclaim? [ I know why ! It's a setup smuck ], over just strength based clean + thruster ( nothing wrong, lovely moves ), highlighted here. The overhead press must be the theoretical limiting factor for ABC format, hence the 1 press per round ( with 2 cleans + 3 squats ). Let's assume that it was found organically, over time/reps that to push the EMOM format, for given weight, the press needed to be managed. Is the ABC really an ideal ratio of clean - press - squat, or what , yo ? These are very different ways of programming these 3 × kb moves [ clean squat press ], monster combos, which is fun, but also a confusing area still... Maybe, and given Mark's 'math' angle, there should be an attempt to categorise these various monster lifts, and their variations. ( strength ; strength-endurance; ....) It'll never be perfect, but no better man to put a wrapper on it, ok good luck... Answers on a postcard....

I don't want to disparage kettlebells, I myself use them for swings (two kettlebells) and deadlifts (two kettlebells), but I think that practically all pressing exercises performed with kettlebells are equally replaceable with one-handed dumbbells, in case we do not use a "palm" grip (holding the bottom of the kettlebell with the palm) or "bottom up" grip. The grip of the kettlebell, where the body of the kettlebell presses on the forearm, is about as "natural" as the classic one-armed hold... WITH THE DIFFERENCE that practicing pressure and snatch (etc) exercises with one-armed hands at least does not crush the forearm. If someone thinks that it's natural to have a toned forearm by crushing iron, then let them try to lift anything in nature, and they will suddenly find out that the kettlebell is really not so natural if it is used for push-ups, snatches and the like with a "classic" grip . For example, what I don't understand is that Mark protects his knee when kneeling (eg half-knee) but not his forearm bone? Why? Is it a little "manly"? NOT. IT IS RATIONAL. No lifted objects in nature will cause you bruises, abrasions on the bones of the forearm. Because none are reshaped and lifted in this stupid way.
@nirpy
@nirpy 6 месяцев назад
It sounds like you might benefit from practicing your kettlebell grip techniques. Holding a kettlebell overhead or racked with a barbell/dumbbell grip will put more pressure on the wrist like you said. But a proper diagonal kettlebell grip produces little wrist pressure unless we are talking heavy weights. I do lots of 48kg cleans and 32 jerks with no more pressure on the back of my wrist than in my daily job tasks. For most body types, competition bells are likely more ergonomic than cast iron. And prokettlebells and rogue competition fitness bells and some older federenkos have flattened wrist spots that could help. Also, competition lifters who clean and jerk or snatch hundreds of times daily often wear wrist sweat bands and sometimes wrist guards.

Check out the strongfirst article....by Scott Lardella....as a counter to your perspective .. the-3-key-distinctions-of-the-kettlebell-press/ Most convincing for me is the argument that the kb puts the shoulder naturally in a favourable position for pressing.

@cioran1754
@cioran1754 6 месяцев назад
@lihchong2267 what about kb tgus? This guy does not know what he's talking about. It's puzzling because he uses kettlebells and has some positive things to say. It's clearly a lack of understanding, some feedback / argument would be appreciated, after being challenged and called out, like I'm wrong constantly on shit, so there's that, argue your case, why kbs are a bad press option.....put up
@lihchong2267
@lihchong2267 6 месяцев назад
@@cioran1754 kettlebells have multiple points of contact, so there's no reliance on a crush grip. I can do a getup with an open hand as long as I can keep my wrist straight. With a dumbbell, all I got is the crush grip - if that fails, I'm dead.
