They did Rosie a disservice bringing her on a show like this. She can't keep up/hits the breaks on the pace when she speaks, and not only is she hard to understand, her jokes all fall flat. Inclusivity is good, and accommodations are good, but we also need to acknowledge our limitations. These quick fire panel shows are just not for everyone.

Listening to Rosie deliver a punchline is a bit like scoring a goal and having to wait 3 minutes for VAR to confirm it.

Putting Rosie in for nothing but inclusion… comedy is all about timing and perfect delivery. I’m sorry, but she has neither and when she talks. It just puts the show on hold.

Seen a few people be harsh about the show this year, I was at the studio record and was one of the best I've ever seen (Richard and Mel were great together as well as Kevin and Mo and they really bounced off each other). Problem is that it's a 5 hour record and the best bits are when they go off on random long tangents, and as well as missing those stories when they're cut you miss some of the best one liners as they wouldn't make sense. Watched back the show and there were very few of the really funny lines left in, and those that were didn't make much sense without the previous context. A few of the best jokes got cut for being too offensive as well so came across as very safe and mundane in the edit. The problem when editing as well is that all of the questions and answers obviously have to be left in (which takes up most of the runtime) but they didn't actually take up loads of the record. In terms of jokes that could be considered offensive being cut I think that's definitely a shame in the way comedy and Channel 4 is going, but a suggestion for next year would be to reduce the number of rounds (making the record slightly shorter) but then keeping it as a 2 hour show, as enables much more of the funny stuff to actually get shown.

Always found it weird when people say they can't understand Kevin Bridges. I'm from Northern England (near Manchester), and I've never had an issue. Obviously if English isn't your first language, or you're from another English-speaking country, I get that. Also wonder whether he gets less praise because of it, to me he was by far the funniest comic on this year's show (also a big fan of Richard Ayoade).

A comedian that can't speak is a bit like a boxer with no arms. It's amusing for 2 minutes and the rest of the time you're just wondering why they're there.

I understand Rosie, I just don’t think she’s funny. Her punchlines are boring and she’s crude just for the sake of it.

If I was to criticise Rosie because of not being able to understand her, and quick fire joke issues would I be labelled a philistine who’s being rude and cruel? Because to me a comedian needs good communication. She may be a good writer though.

I know this could sound terrible but sometimes, when I can't understand some jokes and the audience is cheering and clapping, I feel like a terrible person because I can't just move on and distinguish the comedian, the person, from what sounds to me just like a big speech impairment, and I find myself to think that everybody is like me and is clapping for compassion rather because of having understood. I know it's all my fault: I'm not an english native speaker and it's a really awful thought to think about judging someone only because of the way somebody was born. And I'm not accusing Channel 4 of some kind "wokeism": I'm all in for giving everybody a chance, for diversity and equal opportunities, especially in the case of these very funny and talented people. In conclusion: I love Kevin Bridges but I don't fucking understand 90% of what he says.

I'm on the fence with Rosie. I don't find her that funny and I feel a lot of her fame comes from pity support due to her disability. Don't get me wrong, good for her for being where she is, I just don't think she's well suited to comedy personally.

I love the Big Fat Quiz, but this was the least funniest program I’ve seen all year. The WD40 line was the highlight of the show, so if you think you’ve missed something good, you didn’t.

Disappointing that the first (and most liked) comment is mocking Rosie Jones for her disability. For all those liking it: pull yourselves together. Whether or not you like her humour - which is entirely personal - what do you achieve by attacking someone for the way they are? She’s literally made a documentary this year about the damage to mental health from this kind of abuse. Not saying you have to love her comedy - just be decent with how you speak about people.

IMO, Rosie Jones is being treated a little unfairly in the comments. I think she’s trying to bring up the energy of the taping with off the cuff jokes. Obviously, her diction is slower and perhaps she can’t improvise jokes the same way she’d plan out her stand up but at least she’s trying something. She’s a comedian, she knows there’s dead air. This Quiz was so, so flat & I was waiting for someone to take initiative and cause a bit of chaos. We’ve no Sean Lock or Noel Fielding now, or Brand obviously. That bit of madness was missing and it showed. I saw it as Rosie trying to amp up the energy in the room. Katherine Ryan and Kevin Bridges said next to nothing.
