In part one of our interview series, 'Get Hard' star Kevin Hart explains his passion for luxury watches and the way his career informs his watch purchases.
This guy has one of the best watch collections I've ever seen. Most are way over the top for me, but they're still amazing pieces. Not sure why he's getting so much hate. Seems a lot of people are making assumptions.
‘When I hand this collection of luxury watches to my kids, I want them to know that they too can work hard and afford a luxury lifestyle-but it doesn’t just get handed to you...’
His suits are too small and his watches are very bling bling. Not anything special. But he has every right to spend his money how he wants. Very succesful person and great to look up to! Much respect
@1:49 "those are my two passions, watches and cars." Hmmm... Really? No interest in sneakers? I bet he just forgot to mention that. Is great to see people enjoy the fruits of their talents and hard work.
+Dana Harris and there's nothing wrong with that because I'll be fine with having a simple watch which everyone has instead of exclusive watch that's worth more than a car
It means he wants the flashiest and most expensive you can buy. Not interested in the stories, history, knowledge that comes with collecting. Nothing wrong in what he’s doing. Many celebs are right there with him... but just bc you build in volume, doesn’t really mean you’re a collector. Watch this and then watch John Mayer’s Hodinkee talking watches and you will get what that means.
Javier Catus Actually I have an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra so a LITTLE better than a timex. The point you make is the dollar mark makes the watch collector, so my original comment went over your head (obviously). The price doesn’t necessarily dictate a collection worth. It’s the stories, the heritage and the artwork behind great pieces. RM are not “collectible pieces” any watch dealer will tell you that. That’s not hating. Does my $3,500 omega compare to a $100,000 RM? Nope but just buying flashy shit doesn’t mean you know what you’re talking about. Know what you’re talking about before trying to act like a big man sounding pretty ignorant.
Hi there, I'm a generic relatively successful person who has a huge sense of self entitlement, and here is my collection of generic tasteless watches that I've bought because I care too much about the opinions of others.
This guy's collection is very similar to John Mayer's but Mayer is regarded as a "watch expert." Homology enthusiasts just don't wanna take black men seriously when it comes to watches. #ISaidIt
Nah ,John mayer gets more of those vintage pieces that are very very hard to get. Kevin has a 10/10 collection but his watches are obtainable in the aspect of rarity
This was a terrible video. I wish they actually showed each watch and had Kevin talk about each one. Watch hodinkee take notes . KH is mad funny and looks to have a very nice collection
I see all of you jealous whiteboys are at it again. Who gives a damn how much he knows about watches? He makes his own money so he can buy whatever he likes. It's always the same with you guys. When ever its a black watch enthusiast's the jealousy comes out and you start picking them apart. I see it on every watch video. Your jealousy and racism comes out. You all even did it to Pras. His main collection is Patek Philipe. How can anyone criticize the upper echelon watch company? I didn't see nearest much criticism with the singer John Mayer. He owns a vast collection of Rolexes. Kevin Hart just said he looks at it as an investment which is what a lot of watch collectors do as well as enjoy them. You all are just mad that you can't do what he do or has what he has. That's why some of you are criticizing his suit fit. He likes his suits fitting that way. Stop worrying about what's and other people's pockets and get your own.
Taste in watches--B-? But then again what do I know, I wear IWC ca. 653 circa 1959 with a completely faded dial. I can wear it to the ghetto and absolutely no one recognizes the values of my watch. I put it on my wrist, and go. It keeps perfect time. When it's time to service, I can to all the work. I will pass it down to my god child. When you get into mechanical watches. The flashy one seem neat. After studying horology, and learning watch repair, you get to the point where the date function seems frivolous. I don't think anyone can truely understand the value of a watch unless they learn how to work on them. (It will take a few years to accumulate tools, books, and knowledge, but boy it feels good knowing you can repair that watch on your hand.) Off topic, but hasent Kevin Hart had his 15 minutes? I like him personally, but he's a aweful comedian. Just terrible. I don't understand his continued success? Maybe I'm used to Eddie Murphy, or even Charlie Murphy?
These are the type of watches someone collects who has a lot more money then actual knowledge about watches. These are just bling gaudy pieces of jewellery of which most will be worth next to nothing in a decade
The fact that His favourite is Daytona Rolex shows he knows nothing about horology. Rolex is the trash of high horology. Sorry Kevin, you need to up your watch game
שכחתי איך קוראים לי they are beautiful tool watches love the functionality of the explorer and the sheer utilitarian nature of a no date steel sub. But no, Rolex is not really high horology
Monstly bling. Huge, enormous, expensive bling. Not a single understated vintage which spells class and sophistication. Something you'd wear with a suit. Not the clock size thingy. . PFFFF.
@:48 so they couldn't get any darker skinned models? That shoot looks hella lame! And black men in ads with white women always seemed off to me! Especially this shit!
