Still nostalgic for ddr freestyle back in the early 2000s. Saw my first machine in Vegas probably in like 99 and played so much through high school. Must have watched this video a hundred times. Bought a Japanese ps2 and several mixes as well as building custom game pads. Good times
There was a tv report on Dance Dance Revolution from a Video Game TV show. I have no idea if it was european, american or asian since it was translated to French for Québec TV. I still remember some professional dancers doing real steps on the machine which started freestyle. I also remember the report mentioning to NOT rely on the bar to ACTUALLY play the game. Flashforward to years later with 90% of the players playing only with the bar and barely dancing. I still play any modes without the bar, even if I don’t have a perfect score. The game is much more fun that way! 😊
It’s insane to know that most if not all the people in this video are 40+ years old now… I really wish I was born a couple of decades sooner to truly experience this epicness
I remember when DDR came to the U.S arcades and not many people played it. It was cool having all the Japanese versions for playstions as well. Majority which never was made for US. Same with Initial D.
ah simple times. going on vacation to vegas and playing DDR in the arcade with my bro all day while the parents gambled. I remember watching this video, I think before RU-vid started, and realized how bad I was at DDR in comparison lmao. What ever happened to Kevin Kim? damn we are old now.
2020 and still having remember of this Konami game and this epic song, I recommend you a movie about this machine in spanish, called "La Máquina de Bailar, from Santiago Segura"
It's worth noting that freestyle tournaments were judged closer to 90% style 10% difficulty. Accuracy factored in, but it was far from the focus. He was there to max out score cards and soak panties.
See how the world talks to me in my language and my undertanding? thanks guys atleast they cant say i was making it up then when i cracked it ilummanati was deployed to clean it up 😭
