Watching people be blown away by Kevin is equally as fun as watching people getting Mitch Slapped. Kevin’s talent is just 🤯🤯. Every pentatonix member is a genius at what they do, and the group is even greater than the sum of its parts. It’s crazy.
Kevin is a certified RENAISSANCE MAN! He also seems to be a man with a gentle and kind spirit. I am a 66 year old white guy and this young man is my hero. I hope my grandson grows up to be a man much like Kevin.
KO has more talent in his little finger than most artists have in their entire body. He is a national treasure who needs to be seen and heard way more often as a solo performer, while still maintaining his role with PTX. Your reaction was just as I would have wanted it to be, especially when he did his masterwork on the cello.
Watching people watch this and finally grok just how special and genius Kevin is brings me joy. I stand by my assertion he is a 2-brained magical unicorn.
Someone on a different channel commented after seeing this video that Kevin is going to have a very lucrative career in producing if PTX ever quits performing. He did this in his home studio, I believe. You can only imagine what he might be capable of with a larger studio with all the bells and whistles!
LOL. I knew his electric cello morphing into electric guitar sound would get you. KO mentioned that he tried various settings for most of a year to get that sound. I'm not sure anyone else would have tried, let alone mastered it. Yes, he impressed guitar players with that shred.

I knew you'd get to it and it was so worth the wait! Your face said it all. The man has so much talent, I would just like a tiny piece of it haha. His smile at the end, he knows he killed it. He just is such a genuine good guy from what I've seen on their PTXperience videos etc, his laugh just makes me smile. Thanks for doing this one. If I could recommend some solo stuff from the other members I'd say Break a Little by Kirstie or Your Power by Mitch (again haha).

Thanks so much for your great reaction to this one! The cello you are use to seeing him play on Pentatonix songs he named "Beyonce". His electric cello that you met for the first time today was named "Mr Carter" by his mom. You would also love "Sign Of The Times" on his 'KO' channel. Kevin is also an amazing saxophone player and You Tube has his Carnegie Hall performance as a teenager in high school followed by a wonderful interview with him. The name of that video is "From The Top: Live From Carnegie Hall"- 2005.

KO's KOver of "Sign of The Times" by Harry Stles and "As Long as You Love Me" by Backstreet Boyz are really good. As well as "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and "Don't Dream It's Over" He does a lot more singing in those KOvers too. I mean, all his KOvers are amazing, the one he has for "Human Nature" is AWESOME!
This is the video I generally show people when they try to tell me that Adam Rupp is more talented than Kevin. It usually shuts them up quickly. I love that little "Yeah I just did that" smile at the end!
I wish people stopped comparing artists. There is room for both, and for Layne, and many others. I believe that Adam and KO, who are both amazing people in real life, and also both incredible performers, would not approve to be set up against one another by their fans. They are BOTH exceptional musicians, and they have completely different styles, they may or may not use instruments in their performances, and they cover different genres. We all have our favorites, but that does not mean that one artist is less talented than another. Why compare greatness?

The main reason KO is my fav is because he is such a beautiful human being. He has the soul of an angel. If you ever get a chance to watch any of the videos on his channel where he is bearing his soul & sharing his feelings about who he truly is inside, you will also feel this way. I want to just adopt him and bring him home to be my own son. (I am sure Mama & Papa KO would not approve of this! LOL!) But I just love him as if he were my son. (And Maggie, my 26 y/o daughter would love to have him as a big brother! She is an only child but says she would love it if Kevin were her brother!) I actually feel this way about all the members of Ptx. And now that I've found you, I wanna be an alternate mama for you too!! (& as long as I'm out in wild imagination land, that would mean you & Kevin would be brothers!😉) I am here for you any time you need someone to talk to! Yea so, this video got me kicked off a bus. First time I heard it, I was omw to work. Once the cello part came on, I shouted “Fuck” very loudly. Couldn’t help it. Asked to leave the bus. Had to walk the rest of the way. 100% worth it though, this was insane.

I was so excited to see you react to this. While he was singing you were awed, I knew the big blast of cello was coming, and you didn't disappoint. You might want to do some Christmas stuff before you go the concert. That way, you can react to it before seeing it live. There are many great ones. My favorites are: "Mary, did you know?", "Oh come all yea faithful" and " That's Christmas to me." The official video shows videos of young PTX members at Christmas. Very touching.
You've had a ton thrown at you since you started down the PTX rabbit hole, but this really IS an important eye opening video. Next up with him, his version of Harry Styles Sign of the Times. After seeing this, not as shocking, but still a great watch. BTW: An electric cello is definitely a thing, but making it sound like THAT is not normal.

I've been saying for years that they should sell PTX emblazoned chin straps as merch, to keep people's jaws attached! In this one, Kevin does it all, and we love him for it. Genius is correct!!! And just a ball of productive energy! PTX often talks about how he is always doing projects, creating, writing, etc. just a pure focus, drive, and brains.
