Casey Oxendine sits down with the former UFC champion, and discusses his time in Pride, UFC, performance enhancing drugs, and his disdain for American fans that boo fighters. Randleman's most personal and candid interview to date.
100% truth when he said he answers every fan. I emailed him back in 2007 and he replied within a few hours. Ended up exchanging emails with him for some time. One of the realest and most grounded individuals you would ever know. You’re greatly missed, Kevin. RIP Monster
man, I just saw an awesome interview that this guy did with Tom Erikson, and then I found this video.... fuck, Im going to check out all of the interviews of his channel now lol
He didn't le him finish his bare-knuckle Brazil story. He also interrupted his performance enhancement story with his injuries. Needs to listen more, but good job.
I got so much respect for Kevin Randleman. I agree with everything he said. He is a warrior. Randleman,Wanderlei,Rutten,Fedor,Don Frye, damn I miss Pride!
@@yankees29 and how he beat randleman, but rampage only come like corner stuff. but they fight. when rampage do ground n pound, he didn't want punch already defeatd randleman and punch few time in tatami, not his face. both nice guys
I've never had any love nor hate towards Randleman. But after seeing this interview, I now have a serious amount of RESPECT towards him because of the REAL man he is! I will purchase his book.
Kevin was SUCH a great guy. His acceptance of the decision against Bas is absolutely the opposite of how 99% of fighters would react when asked if they won a close fight.
$30k no gloves, fight 3 guys in one night. The story of the guy with no gloves but he had gloves is crazy. “It was traumatic for my face.” Randleman was a good guy who did what he had to do.
I remember watching this interview when it first came out. This guy had a rough childhood but he is in a better place right now. He has just gone home to god. R.I.P.
+Nick Wells Man go calm down somewhere. What if he is 15? You gotta be 15 -to get to 16 and so on,but tell someone you say is probably 15 to hang themself is just insane! Please go grow up.The World doesn't need more bullying.
I have no problem admitting this. In the early days I was very bored on the ground game stuff. Years later I remembered how the ground game use to bore me. I realized at that point that over the years I learned the different aspects of the technical game and I came to appreciate it more than the stand up.
For me it was the other way around. I was very bored with the stand-up striking game in the early days, I liked to see only the ground game. Now years later I have come to understand and appreciate both the stand-up striking game and the ground game in a more thorough way...
Mr. Kevin Randleman was a HUGELY GREAT FIGHTER - in physical fights with other fighters and, what counts more, out of that - and it would have been an Immense Honor to meet him; I do hope I can do that after this life. I really enjoyed this interview, so thanks a lot for uploading.
"The Japanese fans are the best fans in the world." I TOTALLY AGREE with Kev's viewpoint regarding the fans how majority of American "fans" that have the audacity to boo and disrespect these men and women that put their bodies on the line to entertain these incompetent pricks and make a living for their families. I'd love to meet one of these "fans" that think that two guys recklessly beating each other counts as an "exciting" fight and teach them a thing or two about fighting for real.
One of mma's first super athletes. A super athlete, but still had a fighter's heart. Not like a lot of the guys today who are super athletes..but not fighters at heart. You dig? I could listen to Kevin talk and tell stories all day long. It sucks that we won't get any more interviews. It really sucks that he didn't get to enjoy his older years. Can you imagine having Randleman as yoru highschool or university wrestling coach? haha I'm sure he would have been able to transition from being a great in the ring to sharing and training the youngsters of today.
Kevin Randleman on booing: Japanese fans are respectful because they are more knowledgeable about the sport. Kevin hit the nail on the head: "If you don't understand the game, then the game can be taught to you."
RIP Randleman. This guy was so intense, all fighters knew this fight would be REAL, but very entertaining and good guy. Supreme athlete with crazy vertical.
Back in the day he was THE guy to watch for me. Always so intense, so strong, and just forced his will on people. My favorite fighter of all time, pure entertainment.
I always remembered seeing this guy fight and never actually understood him in detail. Now that Ive seen this video I respect him fully. He's a good man, tells things how they are and a great fighter. Respect from Chicago!
he is speaking the truth, i would never boo a mma fighter because i respect everything they do. i just had my first mma class yesterday and its tough, but im still learning. so randleman is speaking the truth
What Kevin said about the so-called "fans" is ABSOLUTELY correct. I've said for years, on here & else where that a lot of people really don't understand the aspect of professional fighting.( boxing, mma, etc) I never fought in the pro ranks but if there is one thing I wouldn't care to do is to fight here in America. Money is money, no matter where you fight. Yeah, it is entertaining, but the business side is FAR bigger because it's about the fighters.
I know this, but I was referring to fans that lack the patience to take into account all of the intricacies that go into becoming a complete fighter in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts and only care about striking, then they should gravitate towards a sport that emphasizes striking E.G.: Boxing. Although, these days, it is VERY difficult to find a heavyweight boxer that is technically sound that DOESN'T have the surname Klitschko.
The thing Kevin said about fans is so spot on. If you don't want to see ground fighting then go watch boxing or kickboxing or Muay Thai... Don't come to watch MMA and then cry about it... Fighting is more than just stand-up striking.
i totally agree with randleman. i went to vegas 10 years ago to watch ufc and the crowd chanted usa against any foreign fighter. u never hear japanese people chanting japan rules even if one of their own is fighting
