say what you want about smith - he's living every ongoing filmmakers dream: being a writer/director, having a relatively tiny budget (which is still astronomical, to me) and nobody is telling you what to do.. that must feel good:-) fuck the haters - go on, kev!

Smith's self-deprecating humor sometimes triggers complicated feelings inside of me as I want to defend my favorite director when someone is bad-mouthing him, but the person bad-mouthing him IS my favorite director.

What I love about Kevin Smith is even when someone does say his movies are shit then so what? He isn't making the movie for these people. He's obviously making the movies he wants to make. I respect that.

Kevin Smith is the everyman Director. He's kind in heart, loves his kids, loves his wife... The fact that he made such great films so young, is mind blowing to me. "Clerks", "Mallrats", "Chasing Amy"... He was cut from the same cloth as Quentin Tarantino. Where the dialogue holds more weight than the action. There won't be another Kevin Smith, although I still like his films, I wasn't really a fan of "Red State", or Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight", they do make great films. "Tusk" was a great film. Seeing Justin Long in a film like that made me rethink his acting abilities. "Zack and Miri Make a Porno", is a GREAT film, THAT film DID show that Seth Rogen can really act and not be himself in a movie and Kevin Smith penned that film, save a lot of improv.

I still think Harley should do voice work. She has a very interesting voice. Mark my words.

I love the references to clerks and Harley Quinn Smith put on a good performance. As did Lily Rose. and it has its funny moments but as a whole the movie is garbage.
