You know, Phil, you made me remember... I have a pretty cheap Mustang toy car I bought a while ago... It's so cheap the wheels are fitted directly to the plastic chassis. No axis, no metal parts, nothing. 😬 I'm thinking about using parts of the original chassis, perhaps applying some fiber glass with epoxy over it, just to reinforce it... And make the rest out of plywood and aluminum. 😬 Either way, I'm probably going to use a 555 motor to drive it! 😂 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

I once put a connector with force the other way around into a hobbyking 30A esc. Fingers got a little hot and the cables melted 😂 was 8 years ago.... Still have the ESC

Don't forget to use some tire sauce on your tires so u can get some grip!!! Get they toe in the rear set to 2 or 3 degrees, will make u turn way faster , don't tell Kevin lol

I was able to find cammo air bbs color is perfect for mud. Something to maybe look in to also try plastic ball bearings in your search it's the same thing different name

The FTX SuperForza GT looks like it drives really well. You cant fit none Traxxas tires to Xmaxx or visa versa, need to either buy ones that are made for Xmaxx or get Maxmax wheel hubs

The Team Associated is rad. My first hobby grade car was the gold pan RC10. Before that it was the Lunchbox. Which brings me to this. I'd like to see you make a modern day high tech version of the Lunchbox with the same flavor of the original.

You can get replacement Cap packs for the hobbywing esc which is what blew on my Race esc as I have done the battery polarity woops with a race buggy also. Same thing with different battery. That Reedy cap pack looks identical, and is a cheap fix if it works for you. Cheers

I have to be honest I think Kev may win only because I think Kev has done a bit more racing than Tomley but if Tomley gets in some more practice its going to be a battle. It's mainly about throttle control and breaking, getting in and out of the corners the fastest, find a line and stick with it and pray for the best 😁 Good luck Tomley 🤞

The race trick is to cut the esc leads so the live can’t reach the wrong terminal on the battery that way you can never do it again

Yes, but that's the issue when 2 different battery's have the +/- on different sides. Even some of the Reedy ones are not the same even though they look identical 😅

8:36 one tip for racing: this applies to full size or scale: control and not crashing is as if not more important than being fast. Slow can be faster. You aren't racing if you're upside down! lol

@@tomley_rc wait until you have a bunch of other lunatics on the track with you lol I remember the very first r/c race I ever saw back in the 80's I said to my buddy: you would win every race if you just slowed the hell down. Every single car went upside down at least once per lap. Me? I wouldn't have a problem at all if they had a rule: if you roll over and don't land on your wheels, you're out. That means you have to be infinitely better and stay in control, just like a real race. I remember watching one video of a reedy race, one driver wiped out so many times the announcer said "leave it" to the marshals after like the 20th time he wiped out and rolled out of bounds.

I like all the room you have on your bench. Awesome Team Associated racer. I see how easy it is to get reversed polarity on these batteries. They should at least put the positive terminals on the same side. Better yet just configure the plugs differently so it cant be plugged in backwards.
