A wander through the magical meadow of Fritillaries at Kew Gardens! At this time of year the Snake's head fritillaries begin to sprout, emerging through the grass en masse, glinting like jewels as the sun catches each delicate flower head nodding gently in the breeze.
A mixture of Fritillaria meleagris and Muscari armeniacum (Grape hyacinth).
At a time like this the gardens really are a peaceful paradise full of so many wonderful plants and so much wildlife. Being immersed in this garden brings me so much joy and I want to share the tranquillity and beautiful atmosphere of the gardens for everyone to enjoy.
Please sit back and relax as we take a walk through the tranquil gardens and escape into nature. There are so many wonderful plants to see and as the weather warms the flowers begin to bloom.
As one of the Botanical Horticulturists working at Kew we are doing all we can to ensure the health of our living plant collections during this time, one of the worlds largest and most important biological resources for scientific research.

My late Uncle Leonard, a botanist went the Kew and called it a bit of Heaven. I've always wished to see the gardens. I'm 65 and have Leukemia. You have fulfilled my wish. Thank you. You have an eye for photography.

I'm always amazed by the design of the Fritillary flowers. A few rabbits and Easter eggs would look lovely in the midst of the meadow! Are the Rhododendrons blooming yet??

I know! They don't look real, as if someone has hand painted each flower! I could just imagine a few Easter eggs dotted about haha! The Rhodo's have just started so i'll make sure to catch them at their best ;)
