I just pray to god that the industry learns to treat their idols/actors better than during the years Sulli and Jonghyun. As Key basically says, theyre just people who perform, there’s a lot we don’t see behind the scenes. Let’s treat everyone like people with emotions, not products ❤️

I mean... he didn’t just die. You know... he was probably talking to Kibum and the other members often. About his pain. And one day. They got a call he had taken his own life. They carried his body to the funeral. They had to perform songs he used to be a part of. Fans all over constantly talking about him. Media trying to cause a reaction out of them ... imagine you are “normal” person and your friend takes their own life. At least you get privacy to grieve. SHINee had to keep going for the fans, for themselves, for their careers. OF COURSE it haunts them even today. Of course Kibum’s pain is huge. But the fact he has chosen to openly talk about when he wants, shows he is trying to deal with this grief in the healthiest way possible. You can’t keep living in denial. You also can’t talk about it all the time especially not publicly. Losing and idol and artist and losing a close friend is very different. When fans say they miss him, it can never be how SHINee miss him. So I hope people are respectful and I am proud he talks about it. I don’t understand why people keep saying they are shocked to see he has emotion and isn’t always just sassy. You don’t know much if you think he is just a shallow fashionista. He is a human and a very sweet and emotional one at that. Sweet Kibum. My heart goes out to him.

I agree, at least Jonghyun is now resting from all the hate and insecurity. I can't deny how often I say "oh man, if him were here, everything would be different", he just didn't left the group, he left life, we will never going to listen about him, and that's the saddest thing. SHINee is probably the strongest group out there, because dealing with a death from suicide is just... I can't even describe it.

@@cmq23 I don't think the rest of the members were ready to accept the news either but at least they were together. I always think and talk about him often and miss him every day so it's strange to see everyone just kind of pretend like he was never here. I feel so bad for Key when he said that the proccess of grieving was long and painful. The members had to just kind of move on but the pain in their hearts remained. Whenever I miss Jonghyun, I watch his old videos. I leave a comment on every video. But not sad comments. More like, how I remember him as a person or sometimes as an artist. Also, it's better to just say his name. The pain subsides a little, whenever I do that. PS: My tears fell when he said the process of moving on wasn't easy. Whenever I think of their pain, I can't help but feel it as well. PPS: When Taeyeon said that the important thing is for them to be mentally healthy, I remember that, if I am not mistaken, she also confessed that she has depression. I got worried for her as well. @@muntaha681 I have depression as well. It was very easy for me to listen to the old songs. I can still pretend that Jonghyun was still alive. I even stopped supporting them during Countless because I couldn't take it anymore. But then, I realized that this isn't what Jonghyun would have wanted me to do. At the end of the day, Jonghyun is so much damn more than his last moments. Everytime he made us smile, sing, swoon, and laugh our butts off...all of those were real memories that are not any less precious because of how he left this world. I can't help but feel tearful when Key talks about Jonghyun. Key, especially during the shocking period after Jonghyun's passing, was very comforting to me. He was always communicating to Shawols. I was thankful that he wrote a letter to Jonghyun, or whenever he wore that Cartier ring that Jonghyun gifted him, or every time he posted an old never-before-seen picture or video of Jonghyun on his Instagram. And now, he's been so helpful in keeping Jonghyun's memory alive. It hurts to talk about Jonghyun sometimes or listen to his music or see his videos. When SHINee released new music, it was disappointing to not hear his voice anymore. Accepting that this is the present and the future now is heartbreaking. And also sometimes I don't want to bother those around me when talking about him, as if I can't move on. Grieving is hard. Moving on is hard too. I just want to say that I love SHINee. It's been 11 years since they have entered my life. They can do whatever they want (as long as it's not harming others) but I want them to stay healthy and happy. I don't want to blame the other members for not speaking about him on that bittersweet day (because I'm sure they did that in private), but I almost forgot he's a member of SHINee during those 2 hours. Although of course he is, and we all miss and love him. But we don't want to force them to open up about Jonghyun (especially after what happened two days before, on the 10th Japan debut). I needed this today. Every time I mention something about Jonghyun, even and especially when it's something happy, I get ignored in my kpop discord server. My friend told me that when the others first met me, they thought I was weird because I got too excited about him. Is it really that pathetic, that I care about him? What's really pathetic is that we can't even talk about him, the good or the bad, because of the same stigma that killed him. Knowing how he felt about being honest about his mental health makes it so painful to see how little anything has changed. Rather than confront mental health and suicide, we let it fester. And it kills people. It killed him. It almost killed me. Jonghyun is worth remembering. If it means I cry on the seventeenth of December every year, it's worth it to remember what a lovely person he was. A sensitive, sweet man. A man who loved his dogs and loved his friends and advocated for LGBT rights and ran a radio show to give people comfort. The man who helped me, helped so many people, even though he couldn't ask for help himself. Let's please all remember him. Let's talk about it.

i hate how many shawols on twitter and other social platforms are often told "don't talk about jonghyun that way" when we joke about him and his personality. i am allowed to talk about things that he did/said that made me laugh or smile or things I want to comment on. just because he's physically not here doesn't mean he doesn't exist, or that he shouldn't be spoken about like any of the other shinee members. let us reminisce about jonghyun and talk about him as if he were still around. I'm sure he would've loved people talking about how amazing his voice is even now. kibum said it himself, shawols say it, so leave us alone and let us remember jonghyun for his talents and personality rather than a tragedy.

Jonghyun to me will always be more than just another celebrity that committed suicide. He's much more than that. He was a great singer, songwriter, composer, and all around talented man. He seemed very compassionate and sensitive, especially regarding his friends, family, and things he believed in. I hate when people think that just because you die suddenly it's kinda tabu to talk about them as if that person never existed. It's ok to talk about them, cry over your loss, and remember happy times with your lost loved one even if that person happens to be a celebrity.

Late reply but I partially feel that not putting Jong’s name in the title could be seen a couple of different ways. I can’t help but think it could come across like ‘Key says it’s ok to mention his name but we still won’t,’ which could be seen as undermining Key’s point. I know that isn’t the likely intention of the title but it’s something I thought about. I agree with you tho. Spreading positivity encourages positivity. 👑💎💎💎💎💎👑

I swear if I saw anyone dumping their own feelings on them and pushing them to talk about Jonghyun I would personally come and shoot in their face. Let them (key, Minho, Onew, Taemin) talk when they feel like it and when they don't wanna, don't push them. Give them their space. I hated when the camera zoomed in his face when he was trying to hold himself back. The process of griev isn't easy. Just bcz after all these years they are finally talking about it doesn't mean we have to always push them. Let them come out of their zone by themselves. Under all these glitter and shine they are normal human beings with feelings like us. Let them talk about it the way they feel comfortable in.

I think Kibum’s way of remembering Jonghyun is very healthy. He does it out of love, longing and respect for his friend, his brother. The way the others (meaning all other media and SM) are handling the situation is wrong: it’s okay to say his name, it isn’t a taboo that you have to hide in order to get over it. By mentioning Jonghyun, we also remember/honour him and the amazing things he did and is still doing after all these years. Do not forget him, keep him alive through our memories and feelings 💜

His name was Jonghyun and he was here. He was real. And he is missed. He is missed because he was loved. If he was never loved, he wouldn't be missed. It's ok to remember the ones you loved and miss them when they are gone. It's okay to talk about them. It's even ok to show sadness from time to time. The truth about missing someone you love is you never really lose that sadness. The sadness becomes a part of who you are as a person. The trick is that sadness is like a flame of fire. Keep it small like a flickering candle to remind you of your departed loved one. But don't let the sadness burn out of control or it will consume you like a wildfire taking out an entire forest.
