Davies just playing his position, not feeling he has to do it on his own. Different player with this coach. The decision to bring in new center backs was probably a no-brainer -- it was terrible watching how vulnerable the older generation of center backs were in the world cup.
Did anyone notice David trying the knee slide after Shaffelburg's goal and going down awkwardly. I've been on that AT&T field before and it ain't pretty.
I loved how Shaffelburg played and I called his substitution off within the minute that it happened. He was spent because he works so hard. Well played and well used by Marsch.
Cuz he had a yellow card and came flying in on a slide tackle dead tired. I love him too but when I saw the I knew he was out of gas lol. He's the man though
As a South American, I see that the USMNT focused much more on the technical and aesthetic part of the game, which is important when it comes to offering a sporting spectacle and that allows you to compete fairly well against certain rivals, but Canada more than focusing on the aesthetics of the game, he added the most important thing to have in highly competitive soccer... "PASSION", is what allows him to gain mental strength and give 101% of himself and leave life on the field and that allows you to match yourself against a superior rival and give them a fight... basically "it's the South American style", if you manage to grow based on it, you can not only reach important tournaments but it will also give your soccer an IDENTITY, something that for Americans still find it unknown.
Wheelz I know we’re feeling excited here but relax with the “changing Davies to another position where he could be more dangerous”. He is in his best position as left back. We saw him further up the pitch for years until Marsch. We don’t need to go back to that, ever. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it
5 interesting things: 1. Marsch said that Kone wasn't keen on taking a penalty in practice so he was going to go with Johnston. Davies said, Kone is going to take it and Marsch said, perfect. Marsch was very happy with Davies taking on the leadership role and wants more of it. 2. Canada earned $2 million USD for being in this tournament. Another $2 million for advancing to QF. And now another minimum $6 million more for finishing 4th. Nobody is talking about this, but $10 million USD headed towards Canada soccer is huge! The money is going to significantly improve the program for years to come. 3. Jonathan David went down hard trying the knee slide after Shaffelburg's goal. He was down for a bit, thank goodness he wasn't injured. 4. Marsch told Crepeau to play up high, that was not Crepeau's decision 5. This guy dislikes "for country". Please say "for our country" just for me. We're Canadians, not Europeans. We don't have to copy this silly saying. It kills me everytime!
It is exactly how Canadian soccer needs to work. You find quality players in form playing in Candaian leagues, USL, Major League Soccer and Europen leagues.
@@philojudaeusofalexandria9556 That's because they're feeder leagues. If you think there are players in the CPL that should be on the national team, then why haven't they been snatched up into a more senior league? The CPL is great for what it is. It will NEVER surplant the MLS or top European leagues.
@samuelrigaud6595 but are his performances for canada been the most valuable? I haven't watched any games. Or who's been the best player for canada during this tournament?
This mens Canadian team are National Heros ...when our country is so faulked up because of a Liberal Tyranical Goverment they are the fresh air Canadians need
Windwalker, don't ruin a Great day with your ugly false political comments. Nobody here wants to hear that kind of crap!!! Enjoy the victory everyone!!!
WHY WERE WE IN THAT SHOOT OUT !!!!! DOES ANYONE REMEMBER ????!!!! IT WASN'T BECAUSE A PROFESSIONAL GOALKEEPER WAS STANDING AT THE CENTER PITCH LINE ADJUSTING HIS JOCK-STRAP ... 👎🏿👎🏽👎🏻🖖🍁🌻💛💙🇺🇦
