This is a smart home kit from Keyestudio. It's a really fun way to learn Arduino. It can be found at amzn.to/3k2CaBA This amazon.ca link benefits the Simple Electronics ( / @simpleelectronics ) channel. amzn.to/351mecv
Hello, thanks for the video. I do not find the Manual on the wiki page with instructions how to assemble the house itself. Do you have any information about that ? Or another video ?
Actually, the simplified instructions are down here Search for "Step 1: Install sensors of A board" on wiki.keyestudio.com/KS0085_Keyestudio_Smart_Home_Kit_for_Arduino#Project_15.EF.BC.9AMulti-purpose_Smart_Home_Kit The pdf is missing but that will get you through the build process. I did reach out to keyestudio
It really is! I like the pace of learning about each thing... then putting it all together... then taking it to the next level. It was pretty well executed.
Hi, thanks for the review. Do you know if it is possible to control the kit with something besides their companion app? I've built iOS apps in the past to control Arduino boards using their internal web server. I'm thinking perhaps a Smart Home Alexa Skill could be cool to try, but I haven't been able to find any evidence that there's any API access or control mechanism besides the Bluetooth companion app. Thanks!
Great review, really considering one to play with my kids. Im totally new on Arduino... for any beginner example that i seenon internet about Arduino ... can I use the same source code to upload on that board? All the beginner examples for Arduino (lighting leds, moving servo, etc ...) ... are easy to replicate using these components?
Glad it was helpful. Yes! Any arduino code will work with this board and you can just take this whole thing apart and use it as a board with a pile of sensors with any example code you find online.
It wasn't. They had the example code in a downloadable format. They provided a pretty good bit of code and instructions. You can look at a lot of it without buying the kit. wiki.keyestudio.com/KS0085_Keyestudio_Smart_Home_Kit_for_Arduino
That's a great kit for kids and fun for the parents definately a christmas stocking filler :-) good review as well even without the completed roof, was there a problem??
USB-C Arduino board....no joke, that probably cost them a whole extra dollar...they are definitely not a bottom-of-the-barrel company...as well as even using their yellow headers on even the I2C backpack, so they are special-ordering them
Hi, Could you tell me where can I find the code to be able to use the arduino with the application? I have visited the page, but I find codes only for each sensor, not all together for the app. Thanks
You're very welcome. I would say the kit is a good start. You could do a bunch of sensors in one place for some basic info, but you would probably want more relays and other things spread out to make your house truly more like a smarthome.
good morning It's my first project I'm doing and I'm excited! The house is assembled, I see this error on the monitor: 3.3VL error what could it depend on? second question, when I load the "Multipurpose Smart Home Kit - Test Code" on arduino, library missing error comes out: LiquidCrystal_I2C I loaded several liquidcrystal libraries but it doesn't work 🙁 third question, I can't find home kit on bluetooth from smartphone thank you so much
after folloiwng the instructions and plugging it in, all that happens is the buzzer going off and the lcd turning on, the app connects but does nothing. plz help quick i have a school project due...
... zu Beginn ist der Boden falsch montiert. So kann sich die Tür nicht richtig drehen. At the beginning, the floor is mounted incorrectly. So the door cannot turn properly.
I have a problem. 4 days ago i assembled the kit and everything was working fine until i tried to test it again. Now my buzzer is bepping every 2 seconds and LCD display is on, but i cant do anything else. Can you help me somehow?
To me, it is all about scaling. Like you're obviously not going to do things exactly like this, but if you learn the logic from the kit that if the humidity is high, turn the fan on....you can scale those concepts up to real life with a relay and AC fan.
@@AnotherMaker hello bro i have question about this Note Note: Remove the Bluetooth module please, when uploading the test code. Otherwise, the program will fail to upload. Connect the Bluetooth and Bluetooth module to pair after uploading the test code. Does this mean that I do not prove bluetooth module in shield sensor until the end of the program ?
It works occasionaly.. not with the blyetooth! Dont waste your money! Go step by step and you will build working home by youreself. This is just for selling...
