Hey man, been hunting forever but new to tradbow this year. Just found your channel and love it. We have the same train of thought on a lot of our other gear. All the vids ive watched so far are awesome.
Man I was already subscribed when I seen y’all killing it on the 3d courses. But you also hunt from a saddle?! I use the bullman steps dropped the dump pouches and have a designated pocket for them on my pack.
Yes sir, I been using the overwatch outdoors Transformer saddle the last year. Trying their new single panel this season and testing it out. I one stick climb and hunt for a ewo UP platform.
Can you do a video on what you have in the alpha pack? I like the thought of not having any dump pouches weighing down my saddle or getting in the way. Thank you in advance, keep up the great work.
I have a very similar setup like yours. I do the one stick climbing method. I have the ultimaider and mini beast stick. I plan on doing rappelling down the tree next year. I also have mystery ranch pop up 28 and I carry ghillie kill suit. My first question is where do you buy those plastic bags for the mystery ranch pop up 28 so can quarter out a deer? How much of impact has using a framed backpack for mobile hunting? Besides tree saddle the framed backpack made a huge difference for me I just love it.
I was always either not bringing what I needed or not going in as far as I'd like for fear of not being able to get the animal out. The peice of mind knowing I have the tools to pack an animals out now is huge! I'm just using 2 55gal contractor garbage bags for the meat. Hadnt purchased any game bags just yet. Still hadn't had the opportunity to pack one out just yet either. Hoping to get a few doe late season and test it out
The stick itself was an API 32" stick I cut down myself. The cam cleat I bought off Amazon as I did the amsteal rope. The top platform is from eastern woods outdoors. It's called the UP platform. You can put a nice one together for 200/250 max
Been saddle hunting a few years but just getting into 1 sticking this year. Are you still running the carabiner for you tether? If so what brand is it? Im not liking the quick link
Any higher end carabiner will do fine. I try and find the highest weight rating one. That's usually a 24kn/8kn rating on most quality ones. Which is plenty if you're smart about not letting a ton of slack in your system while you climb.
Honestly it was a nice feature but not needed. A regular caribeaner would work just as well. It was smoother turning side to side for sure but almost to smooth lol.
Either or would be fine. I got this one in a trade deal. If I were to buy one I'd get a locking one. That said things would have to go pretty western for your rope to come out of this carabiner.
