Hey Liam, I have just watched all your videos! They are great, and super helpful. Something i would love a tutorial about is paper products, like business cases, leiflets or magazines or something of that kind. Where you show how to make the edges worn, and a little wrinkly. Would be so helpful! Keep up the good work!
@LiamMartinTutorials
@LiamMartinTutorials 4 года назад
Sorry for the late reply. I don't work with these products much in my line of work, but I can definitely have a think about doing some content for it. What kind of thing would you like to see?
@krq113

@@LiamMartinTutorials Thanks for getting back to me Liam :) I'm personally really into stuff like pixeden dot com makes. But I was thinking some paper products, with rough edges, instead of a perfectly straight edge. Just how to make it look realistic :) Hope it makes sense.

hi, would you mind helping me, I have this clear whisky bottle but I need to render the image as png with transparencies, the thing is that whatever is behind the bottle needs to be transparent as well not just the background because right now the enviroment is rendering so I get this yellowish color instead... I would really appreciate it

do you have any solution for non glass material??
@animatorCZ

Hi there , If there is thickness to your glass isn't this creating droplets on the inside of the bottle?

It would be really helpful if you could tell me how to do the same with a beer can especially one having a white background.
@viniSATU
@viniSATU 3 года назад
Duplicate the Beer can, increase the size to 1.01, set the material of the copy to solid glass or basic glass and do this procedure of the tutorial in this copy, you will have a "layer" with only the droplets to work with without having to messe up the original.

Great job Liam, your videos are very inspiring! I would like to submit you a possible solution for the small issues. Since the condensation droplets are basically anoter material (water), and since in Keyshot it doesn't work to add a transparent material as a label, what about creating an offset surface of the sides of the bottle in the 3d software, and later apply to it the properties of the water and all the other nodes you just showed? if the offset is very small, something like 0.1mm, and using the same map of the displacement/bumps for the refration index, you can make this surface invisible where the bottle is free of droplets. What do you think, could it work that way?
@LiamMartinTutorials
@LiamMartinTutorials 5 лет назад
Definitely could! I like the sound of that. My only gripe would be that it could be difficult to do it with complex shapes. Going to give it a go when I can and get back to you
@juanpablomolina1293
@juanpablomolina1293 4 года назад
I just did that! With a plastic non translucent plastic, duplicating the part in keyshot and scaling it 0,99999% adding a cristal material, then over that I applied the steps that Liam explains here. It was a good alternative!

Y my drops have flat surfaces on top? Is that because the Falloff too low?
@orkhonal
@orkhonal 5 лет назад
When we apply the water strips to the surface will that affect both inside and outside of the bottle?
@LiamMartinTutorials
@LiamMartinTutorials 5 лет назад
Yes they will. You can always split the geometry at just put the water drops and stuff on the outside layer.
