I hope they make the new King Tiger that costs millions of dollars and has the most advanced weaponry and computer systems in the world and with no other tank to rival it's tech. It'd be perfect.
@@Bernd-m2o The MAUS would definentley be a major threat on the land tbh with the accompaniance of other medium tanks but even if modernized the MAUS calliber would be abt like 140mm by minimum (main cannon) and actually the main reason MAUS wasnt sent into full battle even if 4 were pretty much completed is bombers like the MAUS is so slow that aerial bombers will destroy it easily but now there are things like the A-10 and SU-25 and lock on bombs the MAUS would struggle to survive the battlefield like its gonna need something to protect it from aerial close air supports a lot and the MAUS will be hella expensive meaning that 1 destruction of a maus from aerial bombing which is very likely will be a big loss and waste its better for germany to stick to making medium-more proven weapons like Leopoard series
@@-ascendantcapricorn8370 Which T14? The one copy which was burning on the 1st showing? It is one of the "Wunderwaffen" which never show up on the battlefield. Its a bitter joke.
The coolest part is the modularization option and the 130mm gun (8% size increase provide you 50% increase in penetration). I was expecting some more radical changes like unmanned turrets and engine and driver in front and gunner in back. On the other side, a proven chassis and hull will increase ready to market time a lot and the commander in the turret still provides some advantages if you loose electronic and need to keep going.
@@ronaldotrumph8960 and 8% bigger diameter is not what gives the 50% extra penetration, but the extra propellant thats in the longer casing as well as longer sabot allows for more penetration.
my question is why why would Germany put this in production they can give there troops ammo in they can barley produce leo 2s in large number they should focus on the resupply of there divisions.
this is an independend deveolopment of rheinmetal, and the german military focus always has been qualitiy over quantity, and a replacement for the leo2 is long planned by now.
To my layman's eyes, the frontal area looks like one big shot-trap? Between the turret and the hull? It's like guiding the shot to the 'throat', no? Even more like the early ww2 Panther models had?
Please don’t forget why Japan or German lost was partially due to it’s weapons production time. It’s too advanced and took too long to make with too little units.
@@Graczent.D gotta balance quantity with quality, lets take for example the territory of the USA, are you able to defend that with 100 extremely advanced tanks or 1000 less advanced tanks?.
@@Phantom-gc2ns 100, 1000 Tanks are more, but will be able to defend themselves less, which means youre gonna lose more of those more rapidly, no APS, no Softkill Protection Systems, no Advanced, FCS, Thermal Imagery for Commander, no Anti Loitering Munitions Measures, no Scouting vehicles themselves, also 1000 crews will still be more expensive and more valuable to lose than 100, people always forget how expensive training on Tankers is, and that they require Logistcs too.
@@Graczent.D you're missing the point, when you are defending a territory, u must have numbers to defend an area. a few advanced tanks cannot defend a border for example Germany shares a 3,767-kilometre border to the east. if the military cannot produce enough tanks to efficiently/effectively cover an entire front due to cost then the only alternative is using simple and less expensive tanks. Russia is an exception where decent tanks are being crewed by a poorly trained crew. similar to soldiers, special forces(good but expensive = less numbers) but regulars are the backbone of an army to win,

No. The basic forms were taken from the KF41 IFV, its further development and even some parts are the same! (this is both a manufacturing advantage and a maintenance advantage if someone uses it together with KF41 IFVs). I saw the KF51 live, it looks fantastic live, it was on display at the handover ceremony of the Hungarian Rheinmetall KF41 factory!
the shape has at least two functions one is hidden inside multiple angled plates to break up both HEAT and SABOT penetration. Second it may some stealth usefulness in coatings and shape vs modern thermal viewing systems possibly also vs ground radar systems.

The turret design is a weakness, by tapering the lower segment and exposing the turret ring. If an APFSDS munition hits that turret ring it will pop. The Abrams design is more effective
A APFSDS goes through the armor or disintegrates. At the end the gap you need to hit is the same. If you hit e.g 100mm too low/heigh, it will not ricochet into the ring. Therefore not sure what you have in mind here.
Blablabla, and clickbait. It’s not a tank, it’s only a study, and is not working. The price is uncertain, and nobody knows if Germany would buy this tank. Hugs from Berlin, Germany
simplicity??? yes, until the 80s in the Soviet era! Now there are not individual tanks, but networked machines that share data from all sensors, radars, cameras, thermal images (and drones, helicopters, other vehicles too!!!), you know where the enemy is before you know your own your sensors could see it. These tanks know immediately and exactly where the enemy is, how many vehicles they have, categorize the targets based on type and distance, they distribute among themselves which one is in a better position, they also share the coordinates with the artillery 20 km further back immediately and automatically, which is within range the correct type of projectile is already loaded... An independent enemy tank that can only rely on its own sensors has no chance. The opponent doesn't even have a chance if it were better than these, with more precise sensors with a longer range... ...but this is a top category, I don't think there is anything better!
