The most ironic thing about this Tatum discussion is…Jrue Holiday played in the Paris Olympics, & also won the 2024 NBA Chip. And played a major part this season…on the Boston Celtics, a 2024 “teammate” of Jason Tatum….do with that as you may. I think the franchise just wanted to protect their asset

This U.S. Basketball Men's team still reminds me of Isiah Thomas not called up to be part of the Original Dream Team of year 1992 to compete at the 1992 Summer Olympics games there in Barcelona, Spain back in those days. In this case, Jaylen Brown (2024 NBA Finals MVP) was not called up join this year's U.S. Basketball Men's team. Up to now, so much are still being said as to why Isiah Thomas was not included in that Original Dream Team of the United States' Men's Basketball team of year 1992. Peace.

Based on Tatums Moms reaction, sitting out full games wasn’t what he wanted to do. Framing it that he got some rest is hilarious considering his other team mates playing. You can see it on his face. I have no problem with him playing in the games or not, and I personally don’t devalue his medal just because he didn’t play every game, but you’re portraying it in a different way then it went down in real time. I can see if you’re finding the silver lining and saying it’s cool he won a chip and a gold and still got some rest in for the next season but that isn’t really the way KG makes it seem like

Lot of internationnal playrs have to play every summer with their national team, so I'm not sure it's a relevent argument in Tatum's case. FIBA has a big schedule :Olympic games every 4 years, same for the world Cup, then Eurobasket(Or Asia, panamerican, it depends of the continent) every two years. For example with this kind of rotation, Tony Parker had to play every summer with team France during his NBA career. It's seems different with players in team USA because they change the roaster a lot. Those players dont commit with the team for a long period. They are exeptions like Melo or KD, but it's only for the Olympics, so every 4 years... They still benefits from 3 free summers out of 4. While a guy like Batum who's team France captain, has to commit to all international competitions.
