The biggest factor for me is that most of Jon’s wins came from opponents who were out of their prime. Yes big names, legends, and he did it in a way we hadn’t seen, nonetheless they were in their mid 30’s if not later and they weren’t evolving.

Chael forgot to mention that Jones also reigned over the most competitive division of his time. The light heavyweight division was filled with the likes of DC, Vitor Belfort, Chael himself, Shogun, Quinton Rampage Jackson and Lyoto Machida.
The biggest criticism for Khabibs run as champ is that it wasn't that long, so he hasn't had to deal with the bullseye on his back effect where everyone in the division is simultaneously training for their next opponent as well as the Champs skillset.
He didn't say he was p4p great ever he said at the time he retired he was p4p number 1. Which is correct cause he was dominating the best in the world while Jon was barely winning fights at that time.
Khabib has a padded record and had famous opponents. Jon Jones defended his title more but had some lucky judges in some of his last fights. So it's hard to say. Mma in general is not as competitive as most sports in terms of athletes. It's just really convoluted to get into at the highest level.

At welterweight, but it’s not simply because of the size, it’s the STYLISTIC matchup with usman and Colby. They both are high level grapplers who have 5 round cardio. That would have been a huge challenge for khabib not just because of changing weight classes but the STYLISTIC matchups, what would happen if he fought usman or Colby and couldn’t take them down and hold them down. What would happen then? You see the point. He beat some great fighters but the 155 division was full of strikers NOT WRESTLERES/GRAPPLERS which work to his advantage. Usman and Colby would have a series test and a series risk for his undefeated record so he didn’t go for it. That’s the point man. It’s about the STYLISTIC fights at 170 that would give khabib trouble and he refused to go up and take that risk.
Khabib in my opinion is the p4p by a land slide. He has Never been defeated. He has never cheated in a fight or fought dirty. He has never used or been accused of using illegal substances.
