"These guys (are) not on my level" Usually when someone says this, they're just hyping themselves up and boasting. When Khabib says it, he's just stating a fact.
yeah i definitely think dustin thinks he was way closer to submitting khabib than basically everyone else did lol sad tho i like dustin but i never thought for a second that he was gonna sub khabib lol
Javier Mendes was asked how he felt when Dustin had Khabib in that guillotine and Javier said him and his father were laughing cause they knew he wasn't subbing Khabib. Imagine having that much confidence at that moment. It's unreal
A good guillotine is almost impossible to defend. But if a wrestler has to know one thing coming into MMA, it's how to not get stuck in the guard while being aín a guillotine
"Im gonna wrestle with him all night .. make him tired , make him tap" and thats exactly what he did. Khabib probably the only one who tells u his gameplan and you can't do shit about it ! Wow
@@SaLaDmAn. the only one who successfully did it everytime dude , not the only one who ever did it. Some guys did it before him but guess what they all have failed at some point. Khabib didnt
I thought Dustin was the guy who could give Khabib the most problems at the time and he got close to subbing him. Pretty crazy. Khabib's understanding of the moment and adjusting to get out of the guillotine was pristine.
@@King_of_kings555 😂 Khabib has been so dominant, even khabib said Dustin is not on his level and if anything was kind of toying with him just to give a show. Going for the guillotine is not a winning move.. Like Dustin btw, he’s definitely a champ in my eyes. He’s gotten so good since, and has even adopted his last opponents moves into his game..
That journalist that motivated Dustin to not give up, and go on fighting, because "you have a great future ahead", that journalist deserves a medal, that is rare to see today
Funny how back then, everyone thought Dustin was just another easy W (which he was) for Khabib, and Ton/Conor were the only bad matchups. Now Dustin is considered the best LW in the world, and Tony and Conor have both gotten fucked up since
*I mean, McGregor picked Dustin apart for the majority of the rematch.* He got a dead leg, and couldn’t stand on it; and it buckled. He was out for a year and came back to piece up the best ACTIVE (for years) lightweight. Even in the trilogy, he out struck Dustin 22-5 on the feet, and even landed 9/10 on the ground. While Dustin only landed 40% of his ground strikes (many of which hit the elbows or chest), and landed only 32% of his strikes on the feet. Plus, that’s including the end of the fight when McGregor had snapped his ankle and Dustin got the last shots in. It’s very clear that people are just hating on McGregor. He has fixed his cardio deficiencies and has learned to switch between the different energies systems that the body can use. He was never in danger on the feet or on the ground. He was evidently prepared for 5 rounds until that tragic injury. Conor’s biggest problem is 1. Doing too much boxing (which he was preparing for a Pac-Man fight), 2. Not having world class fighters around him (he hasn’t even had Dillon or Artem because they’ve been injured or had we’re fine but had COVID and couldn’t join the camp). He needs to cut that boxing coach (not Roddy, but the old bloke Phil), he needs to revitalise his movement (with Ido Portal), do some offensive BJJ (particularly leg locks as they’re defensive but also present a possible submission); and work on his wrestling. All of these other fighters have the advantage of being active and being at ATT/AKA; and having world class fighters to train with, compared to a guy whose lost his passion and wants to be a family man etc.
@@zippo_muk9254 Wow you are trying very hard to defend your boyfriend there. Name whatever stats you want but he got ko'd in the rematch because of adjustments that Poirier made and in the 3rd fight he dominated Conor.
These two are the ideal fighters imo. No bullshit. No drama. Respect, humility, recognition of opponents’ strengths, they are good overall and fantastic in their specialties. Two real champions here. Also GSP, of course
The "drama" and the "bullshit" are to attract people into the fight, to get people hooked and increase the hype of the fight, people enjoy seeing two people talk shit and then face each other, in this world the words of forked tongues moves its fans. Everything is a show, everything is impersonal. So, that they do not create drama or do not criticize each other, it means absolutely nothing. More bullshit, more audience, more audience, more money for both, a mutual benefit even for the losing opponent. The more shit they talk, the more people will expect to see the outcome of their fights, and Conor McGregor understands that very well.
@@bts_sf There was no drama, and no bullshit, and yet the fight was an absolute sell out and was trending in ppv. it doesn't need drama to sell fights if the fighters are the peak.
I cried when Dustin was crying during his interview. Ive faced loses like this, of course not to this magnitude , but when you want something so bad, and it’s right there and you didnt execute. That hurts.. but man the Dustin that formed from this, is going to be a monster, charles doesn’t stand a chance.
anyway, the fact that he lost to Charles doesn't change anything from what you said, Dustin has improved a lot from 2019 and I think he will be champion very soon, if he doesn't lose the motivation
@@bfonk2355 Why bcuz he said aldo is past his prime and ring girls are unnecessary? 😂 if that's him thinking he's a god then a guy like mcgregor with the things he's said and done is the either the devil or the absolute scum of the earth...
That change in Dustin's face when Khabib escaped from the guillotine is unreal. The man came to know what is it to fight one of the best ever lightweights on the planet. OMG!
@@joshuarobinson6030 This is how it should always be. Unnecessary bullshit drama is for small children and narcissists. It’s a stain on the sport and teaches kids the wrong way to behave. And it doesn’t even “bring in more views”. This is one of the most watched fights on the UFC RU-vid channel. These two are real champs. Arguably the two fighters most deserving of respect in this sport’s history. The charity, the humility, honesty, respect, dedication, and heart of these men is admirable.
@@SnailHatan it does bring in more views, why do you think people like Bisping, McGregor, Diaz, Covington all trash talked their opponents? Because it sells fights and that's why Colby Covington is still in the UFC
@@whyareyoureadingmyname5854 It wouldn’t bring in more views for a shit, nobody fighter. The skills of the fighters brings in more views than anything.
It's always funny seing all the khabib haters were hoping for him to lose in every fight, seing that even now that he's retired people are still butthurt from this guy, and they will remain like this, while this dude won every fight, living his life and not giving a fuck about what people think of him
If he stayed somebody would have beaten him khabib cares about his legacy and thats why he retired if he didnt retire somebody would have came along and destroyed him thats just the way the fight game gos
I've watched this fight many times and what was apparent to me the first time, just as it is on my 10th time, it seemed like khabib didn't go full out with the ground and pound during certain positions, as if he was almost being easy due to the respect he had for Dustin. You can say that sounds foolish, but we all know he chose not to break gaethjes arm in front of his parents, choosing instead to just put him down for a nap. Khabib may not be the GOAT due to fighting a few tomatoe cans, but if someone believes that they're not wrong. He fought stellar competition from RDA and on. The thing is, he made the tomatoe cans look the same as the very best in the UFC, so it's just a shame we didn't get the honor to watch him fight longer.
I think exactly the same! Everytime i watch the fight i feel like he could've won much aerlier but he probably prefered to make it last longer for the show and his father who was there that night.
I thought the exact same thing, it really looked like he avoided tapping him out early and at some points it almost seemed as though he let him go and let him get up. I respect Dustin but khabib was way out of his league
the thing is that khabib didnt (only) fight cans outside of the ufc. he dominantly beat former and future champs of other organizations like eldar eldarov (brave fc lightweight champ), whos only loss to this day is to khabib, he is 14-1. khabib also beat ali bagov, former champ of ACA, who was quite dominant (and roided lmao) himself. ali bagov is 32-11. shahbulat shamlaev also one of the names khabib has beaten. former muay thai champ and won a tournament in bellator. dude went on a 9 fight win streak after his loss to khabib and is 11-3. there are 3-4 other (former) champs on his record. mostly combat sambo and european mma champs.
So then ??? He said and did what he said lol? Even though it was only his next fight that was his last. But still wasnt his last fight lol You're acting like he said something wrong??
Wouldn’t have been his last, but for good cause he walked away. I would’ve loved to see him whoop Connors ass again, have a rematch with Poirier and everyone else in between. Good thing he’s working with his partner Makhachev and he’s carrying on the legacy.
❤❤❤ Hearing & seeing father Nurmagomedov in this creation • Someone I wish I had befriended for this lifetime indeed •• Thank you for sharing this upload
The absolute best twist would have been at the 10:33 mark when Khabib is asking the bakers what was in the glass case if Tony ( disguised as a Baker) tore his costume off and screamed "it's Tiramisu Time Bitches!!!" And went house on everyone
These two amazing fighters and role models are definitely my favorite and have been for a long time but Dustin the diamond has been my favorite since before the UFC and will continue being so with that said I do like a baby is my second fighter that I ate it in my top five but I’ve always rode with Dustin the diamond Poirier but he didn’t get the W and I wish you would have but he did amazing a lot better than work 99% of people think i’m always going to root for both of them but definitely Dustin because he still swinging and I live an hour away from him LOL
My list of the greatest lightweights in MMA history.. 1.Khabib 2.Charles 3.Dustin Edit : Yeah Dustin didn't touch the LW belt so far but still his resume is so great defeated Max 2 times,Conor 2 times,Dan 2 times,Justin,Anthony etc..give much respect for the 💎
I love Javier mendez. He is amazing and I have watched this fight before but there are 3 fighters I rewatch their fights And They are GSP, Nate Diaz And of course Khabib❤❤❤❤❤
What makes you think so? Khabib himself said he was under a lot of pressure prior to this fight, when you're under pressure you take the shortest route to secure a win and I don't believe that he wanted to stretch the fight any second more than he had to.
I can't lie. People always say about Conor being mauled in that 2nd round ground and pound and that was heavy duty. But the way Khabib just snaked around Poirier at every turn and just aggressively latched onto him and neck cranked him and all sorts is honestly a little difficult to watch. Seeing Poirier, a world class fighter, being absolutely bent over like that on the floor is utterly savage. His face at the submission, it looks like his soul is leaving his body. Again, people say about Conor being mauled but he looked more disappointed and deflated after the neck crank and Khabib screaming at him, Poirier looked utterly spent.
