Арам Хачатурян - Сюита из музыки к драме М. Лермонтова "Маскарад", АСО Московской филармонии, Концертный зал имени П. И. Чайковского, Москва, 20 июня 2018
You guys are awesome. The music itself is outstanding. I really dont know how you keep the focus to play it. Whenever i listen to it i just have to stop whatever i am doing and just listen. You are outstanding!!!
The waltz was played everyday after the children in our inner city school returned to our building ( remember when we went home for lunch?) Every week our principal lmtroduced the children ( grades k- 8) to beautiful classical music by various composers and l was the one adult in a school with more than 100 adults who became enamored with this piece of perfection! That was in 1963 TG for an intelligent principal!
I love those Russian composers. Not a day goes by without listening, from pianists, violinists, balets, orchestrations, cello, even singing, although I don't understand the language. It was my wish to learn it, alas, studying piano and violin and orchestra it was not possible to do it all, so the language was dropped.. I do know the Russian Anthem in words. It's beautiful.......
I love the entire ballet, it's very sad, about husband accusing his wife of betrayal while she was innocent and poisoning her in his fury just to learn shortly after of her innocence. The Nocturne to me was the most beautiful part, a wonderful, tender PDD of a husband and wife before he accuses her of cheating.
@Jeanette Mccormack I wanted to say that it would not be a mistake to call him a Russian composer, since he created many musical works, focusing on the traditions of the Russian school. And the music for Lermontov's drama "Masquerade" is a typical example of this...:)
