I'm a huge fan of Khamzat. I really hope his career is handled well by the UFC - he's a beast and should have had a new fight booked already. I know he's likely going to be at 185 but would be sick to see him making 170.
@@felicks0 khamzat has 3x pre ufc where he missed weight and they ended up doing a catchweight bout. He also missed vs “leech” and tried to cheat by holding the towel, he then had an hour to lose the weight and came back and made weight. He then missed weight vs Diaz by 7.5 lbs.. I like khamzat but his weight is a REAL concern. It’s extremely rare for ufc and/or commission doctors to come in and “stop the weight cut” like he claimed vs Diaz. They literally only do that if you’re literally about to die . The only other time I’ve actually ever heard of it happening was when Max Holloway was slotted to fight Khabib..

It is confirmed that leon edwards and khamzat accepted to fight eachother 3 times, no doubt they would have tried Colby aswell because he's a bigger name and theres 0 word of any attempts. You say that but Khamzat couldn't get Burns out of there and he's a true LW - and he was gassing in round 2. Khamzat fan boys thinking he runs through Colby makes literally zero sense. Colby has a FAR better chin than Burns, so it's most likely a decision, and Colby won't gas out in round 4 or 5
Khamzat has pulmonary fibrosis and Colby has the perfect style to take all that wind out of his sails. Would be a good fight that could honestly go either way and if you believe otherwise you know absolute zero about MMA.

The UFC is straight mishandling this guy. He could’ve had two or three fights in the time he’s been on the shelf. At least two. Yeah. They popped it on him a matter of weeks before. Later people kept asking what would happen if it were a title fight, but his coach replied that they would never take a title under such short notice. So he really got short shrift. Khamzat is a fighter who speaks with real confidence, he’s a straight up killer. He doesn’t complain, doesn’t boast, and only cares to win with no dumb antics to get a title fight. After Burns, he gained significant experience. He should stop thinking about 170 and the what ifs, just take everyone out at 185.
It only takes a loss or two to shatter all of a fighters confidence. Depends on the fighter so we’ll see about him. If I were him I’d stick to WW, I don’t know if he still has his advantages at MW.
Khamzat mauls Bo at 185 pretty handily at this moment. Bo needs a few tough fights, some seasoning to get to a level where he can compete with Khamzat.

So he was basically close to making weight but drs stopped him going lower because he was showing signs of getting unwell sick. People have to remember the liver, kidney's, brain and heart start acting up when you dehydrate yourself like they do to make weight especially the kidneys, they shut down very easy. So it's good they cancelled the Diaz fight.
